Cumulative Speculation related to TES:V

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:07 am

They could be working on Fallout 4. Or a new title.

Or just partying :run: :intergalactic: :dmc:

Yeah I highly doubt they are working on Fallout 4. I think the idea is for Fallout: New Vegas to tide the fallout fans over until Beth is done with TES:V.

Although they very well could just be partying ;)

So... Didn't they say that they were going to have a big announcement right around now? Around the time of the "clarifying post," someone (Mirander?) posted a quote from a Beth developer saying that they had a big announcement planned for "around a month from now." Well, it's been a month.

Well, the dev's are sort of on a free schedule, they don't have to announce anything right now, you gotta remember that we are only speculating, plus the date won't be fixed, we don't know the exact date they are gonna announce something

Pete was quick to confirm that it's not one of the various iPhone projects that have been bandied about at id or Bethesda, nor is it the game that Todd Howard's development team at Bethesda Game Studios is working on (he said it'll be a while before we hear anything about that).

by that bold comment alone everyone knows that they are making TES V, it's the only thing that they would want to keep under wraps, however i don't expect an announcement this month i'd say more around next year for TES V announcement

Could still be a TES-related announcement. I don't expect it to be, but at any rate anytime Beth is poised to make a "big announcement" it's worth mentioning, eh?

Perhaps it is the "really big Wii game" that Bethesda is developing.

That lone commenter might have something. Oblivion for Wii?

No way, action games don't suit the wii, especially something with the intensity of TES, plus that would remove a lot of the modding capabilities that made TES what it is today, could be a spin-off though, maybe something based on the novels

TGS is right around the corner. Seems like the most logical place (or time if they aren't attending) to make an announcement. Like many have already said though, it won't be TESV.

It will be interesting to see what this new game is though, especially with the rise in published games and new IPs that the company has been picking up recently. WET may have semi-failed in the reviews, but i'm still glad Bethesda is striving for a bigger presence in the gaming industry.

Yeah.

TGS will take place at the end of the week (09/24-27).
Expect some news very soon. And I am not convinced it won't be TES5

If it is TES:V, I doubt they'll be announcing at any major gaming convention.

Normally, they put a screenshot and/or interview in a magazine, while updating their site at the same time. As word spreads, they release concept art, further screens, and the like.

Perhaps, but for speculative purposes, all we really have is past precedent.

And Bethesda is a company that, when dealing with how they line up their ducks to announce something, is steeped in past precedent.

We'll see. Anyway, if the article is right, there will be an announcement very soon.

It was said a little more than one month ago (article was published a month and a day ago) there would be an announcement in a month or so. TGS happens to be in the correct timeframe, but it doesn't mean they'll make their announcement there. (but honestly, that's where the medias will be, so they should do it there if they intend to communicate now)

In all fairness to your statement above, Bethesda just picked up the IP of fallout 3 and released the game last year (right?)....as of now its set out to be far more successful than Oblivion, especially amongst the casual audience. How did they first debut it?

Perhaps they're trying to use the same tactic they did with fallout when it comes to marketing the next elderscrolls title.

Call me out if im crazy, im just trying to spread the hope-jam around. :P

i think that bethesda is going tp anounce alot of things about a month before the release so that there wil be a mile long waiting line and the 1000 forst games is gone in 3 seconds.
or they are going to put a few things out slowly so that the energi is being released over longer time.

That would be economic suicide. In order to sell well, a publisher has to take time to hype the game up. If they announced just a month prior to being released (which would mean it would somehow already have gone gold without anyone finding out), then no one would have heard of it and it wouldn't sell very well. But you can't announce a game too early either, because then people spen months and years waiting for this fantastic game that never comes and eventualy they forget about it. The trick is finding that sweet spot where fans and casuals alike are excited for it.

Since Pete said it will be a while before we hear anything about the next big game, I'd agree with a Q1/Q2 2010 announcement. E3 2010 is June 15-17. So, basically, the deadline for an announcement (TES V or another game) is the last day of E3 2010. The odds of no announcement by then is astronomical. Almost everyone agrees with this, right?

Less than 9 months until announcement...
