Cure Disease potions do work!

Post » Fri Dec 27, 2013 1:17 pm

I noticed the other day that Cure Disease potions can actual heal you from Sanguinare Vampiris. You do need to take multiple Cure Disease potions, but it does work. You will be cured from vampirism. However I have always tried it at early stages, so i have no recollection if it does work in final stages of vampirism. I always keep at least 5 Cure Disease in my inventory and whenever I get the first stages of vampirism i just take 3 or 4 potions. Works like a charm. Thought I shared this with you lot. :D

It works when you've been infected during the 3 day period.

Its should not work when you actually become a vampire. If it does, then its bugged.

...and one should be enough. It it just another disease those first three days, so praying at an altar or asking a Vigilant of Stendarr to cure you should do the trick too. (I always carry cure disease potions, so I just take one if I'm infected.)

Hawk Feathers are a nice substitute for cure disease potions.

It's kinda strange. Since day one I may have contracted a disease once on one character for the past couple years. Lately, however, on my most recent character it's been, bit by wolf get a disease. Fight a few skeevers and get a disease. Get smacked by a bear paw just once and get a disease. I swear there's plague running around Skyrim this play through and I need to break out the fire to purge the lands! :flamethrower:

Honestly thought the disease thing in Skyrim was just a gimmick for werewolves and vampires.. Had skyrim since release.. never had any other diseases until the other day I was near Riverwood and ran into a pack of wolves.. :/ Something similar to rockjoint. I was oddly pleased to find out my assumptions were false. <_<

You can also heal any disease at a shrine.

It works on everything. Unless you wait more than the 3 days and become a vampire. If that is so, then the only way to cure a vampire is to either become a werewolf or do the quest in Morthal.

Once cured, the Amulet/neck;lace of disease immunity works wonders. GL finding one.
