Curie keeps going back to Vault 81?!?

Post » Mon Jan 25, 2016 5:56 pm

Anybody else having an issue assigning Curie to a settlement? No matter what I do she keeps running (yes running) back to Vault 81.

I have her max on affinity, and the settlement is almost empty. I have tried multiple ways to get her to stay, but she won't.

Any ideas? This a bug that will be fixed sometime?

This is a common bug that a lot of people have experienced.

I did a write up of the workaround that I found. See it here - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1581242-curie-wont-go-to-your-settlements-workaround-found/

Sadly it only works if you haven't yet completed the end of the Hole in the Wall quest. If you're not that far past this point yet and have an earlier save, you can still go back and use this workaround.

No mod's, not using the beta, straight vanilla Fallout 4 1.2.

Yeah I'm to far along to go back. Hopefully they will fix the bug that causes this.

Since it shouldn't matter once we have her as a companion, she should be able to go to any settlement we send her too.

No matter what the dialog choices were or when.

It's a bug. There's no 'reason' for this dialog allowing us to send her to a settlement, it's just a method that prevents the big from occurring. It's not a matter of dialog choices or anything like that. The bug simply doesn't occur if you do things in this order for some reason.

As far as I know, this bug hasn't been addressed with the current beta patch. Hopefully it will be in the next one though. If not though, just remember this method in a future play through.
