Currency: Aldmeri Dominion

Post » Thu Apr 10, 2014 11:44 pm

I've done a quick search through the forum, but I couldn't find anything too relevant. I imagine that the Altmer would still trade in gold, but I doubt it would be Septims due to them not being too keen on Talos worship. Any reference to or ideas about their form of currency?

Even though they hate Tiber Septim I imagine they would still use the septim as most of Tamriel still uses it.

I'd say they're probably still gold coins, but with a different name and design on them. Like how in Morrowind the coins are called Drakes.

Actually thinking about it, the Drakes could've been used in countries that weren't too fond of Tiber Septim in order to not cause problems.

Drakes are Septims, aren't they? They are called Drakes by the Dunmer because of the Imperial Dragon on one side of them. Same currency, different name - maybe really because the Dunmer were never very fond of old Tiber.

I'm not sure if the Drake has the face of Tiber Septim like the Septim has is the thing though. I think the only side of the coin we see is the Imperial Drake.

I'm pretty sure that "Drakes" is just slang for Septims. Like qwid or bucks.
