Currency and droping coins

Post » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:58 am

It always annoyed me to not be ale to drop coins in oblivion or stash in my house. It would be nice in skyrim to able to do so. Also, does anyone know what is the currency in Skyrim? Are they septims because of the Imperial prescence? Thanks!

I don't care if you're able to or not - I wouldn't want to deal with the mess of dropping 3,000 coins in my house. Of course, for decorative purposes it might be nice to place a few coins on your dresser or something.

I missed being able to do that in Oblivion, where I was able to in Morrowind. I enjoyed having my own private stash just wherever the heck I wanted it.

I don't know... I'm not sure, but I think I only seen in the trailers the word "gold" , not "septims" ...

I've read somewhere that we can also find in Skyrim world gold coins in groups of 5, 10 and 20 in small purses . "bags". "bags" is not the right word in english... I don't remember...

To be able to drop coins, I think is a Yes, would be very odd if we do not allowed to do that.

In Morrowind I took 2.5 hours to drop a single gold piece onto every piece of the trail leading to my manor-well for a good stretch-to create my own yellow-brick road :banghead:  So yes I want to drop gold!

Yes that could be very nice, like you drop 50 coins , a leather bag of gold , one only a coin and so on. That could be ridiculous if the character could drop a whole chest filled with gold trough. :)

I think I would rather have my own personal treasury like in Fable 3, where you see a pile of gold based on how much you have. That was very awesome.

Any idea on the currency? Does Skyrim is an occupied province taken by the Imperials?

Now that the game has object physics, that wouldn't work so well. Imagine doing all that work only for a deer to run across the path and scatter some of the coins around? Yeah.

It was nice to see, but anything would look good compared to the rest of Fable III

Uh, true, what's the currency? Septims belong to the Empire, so how will it work in rebel provinces? How will they stop people from making coins from cheaper gold alloys if there is no official seal?

Also, can we smelt coins into ingots for smithing?

I'm not sure if gold has been confirmed in smithing. Makes sense that it would be but then would we be prevented from making armor and weapons from it? No perk for improved gold smithing.
For pure role playing, I want the option to produce gold equipment that have horrible stats but are perfect for hanging on the wall and feeling like an ostentatious god ^_^
