Current State of House Redoran

What is the current state of House Redoran? I know Ald'ruhn was destroyed, but has the house completely fallen apart?

Yes, but certainly the House has other cities and additional warriors.

That's cool the city LITERALLY got up and fought the Daedra. So that basically states that, along with the turmoil caused by Morrowind's events, that Redoran has been royally screwed, right?

It's also pretty cool that MK can draw AND write. That's kinda what I wanna do when I get in the game industry.

Certainly, Blacklight on the mainland was returned to it's traditional seat of power.

After the events of the game Morrowind and during the disappearance of the Nerevarine, Ald'Ruhn is said to have been destroyed when a large Daedric force attacked the city. The councilmembers were forced to resurrect the dread emperor crab Ald'skar whose shell they had made their home in. Even this was apparently not enough and the city was destroyed while the Daedra prepared to assault the Ghostgate itself. It is believed that what remains of the Redoran leadership has since returned to the old capital at Blacklight on the provincial mainland

Then the Nords attacked Blacklight.

Yeah. Just wanted to know if it was completely obliterated or disbanded, but I suppose they couldn't fight the Nords if it was.

Resurrecting the Emperor Crab automatically destroyed half of the city. The resulting battle would have definitely destroyed the other half.

Bolvyn Venim was an idiot. First he moved their seat of power to Ald-Ruhn, then he went and got himself killed in a duel because he was too stupid to just let the Nerevarine be the Hortator. Not that he didn't deserve it.

I don't know the result of the war with Skyrim. Though I doubt it was a "war" involved the entire country. Probably just one or two City-States who decided to join up to pick on the nearest Dunmer in a particular point of exploitation. Though, I always thought the Nords were boring and predictable.

They've just become more underdog than ever, and probably lost their public support. But that's a good vibe for Redoran. They were punching bags before, but in a humiliating way. Now they're the Last Samurai of Vvardenfell.

Now all they need are Akaviri Katanas and Orcish Armor and they're set. But yeah, Hlaalu will hopefully lay off of Redoran, because they understand that with the Legion busy and Indoril in ruins, Redoran is the only thing standing between them and crazy nords.

I was thinking about making a new character in OB, and seeign as it seems pointless to create a new topic I'll just ask here. What motivation, if any, would House Redoran have to send an agent to Cyrodiil? I am trying to make a background story for a Redoran Warrior, but can't think up a reason that he would make his way to Cyrodiil.

To get the Empire to stop the Nordic invasions or at least get rid of the orc mercenaries. Redoran probably didn't support Helseth's modernizations, and so are isolated. After he Emperor's death and the disintegration of the Elder Council, the emmisary would hae no mission at all.

I also favour Redoran.

I hate their lifestyle, but I love them.

That makes it better really. Goes to Cyrodiil to plead Redoran's case, somehow gets arrested, and has the Emperor pop into his cell. Before he can even begin to speak, the Emperor is dead and he is thrust into a mission to halt the Oblivion crisis. He also has some motivation to go along with the whole thing so he can get some revenge on the Daedra for Ald'Ruhn. Fits together nicely.

Although their future looks very bleak and they've lost almost all their power. However, one can say the say about all factions of the Empire, and the Empire its self.

Damn. The Emporer Crab "complex" would have been the natural place to run to when the Daedra started pouring out. Then think about the horror those people must have felt as the Crab was reanimated and started moving, and they were thrown around like rag dolls in there.

They probably were already dead or fighting the Daedra themselves. I'm fairly sure Redoran guards would've evacuated the Crab.

That makes a great deal of sense. But to me that begs another question: just how did the ritual go about? Who all did it involve? Is that even an answerable question?? Methinks it isn't but I'll ask anyway.

So do we know what happened to them in the end? Because 1 city doesn't stand a chance against an army of attacking nords. Does blacklight get razed and redoran eradicated?

Heh. We all know the Nords are scared of most rudimental elements apart from the obvious wind and snow. Cast a lightning bolt into the sky, and they'll run away.

Do we now? I wasn't aware of that.

Anyway, I heard somewhere that the Nord armies were called back during the Oblivion Crisis, to deal with their own gates. Don't know from where, though. If it true, then Redoran would probably still stand, or at least, kneel.

True. I to think that the Redoran will probably will survive, altough in a very weakened state. I don't think they will be strong enough to really stand a chance a against Helseth.

The events you are refering to can be heard in conversations between people in TES:IV

There is grave news from Skyrim. From Falkreath to Windhelm, the foul daedra attack the land.

I hear all of Skyrim is under siege. The daedra lay waste to the Old Holds, and there is little to do to stop it.

There are foul tidings from Skyrim. The Greybeards speak of the end of all times.

They won't keep fighting Helseth forever. And the other houses know that now that Indoril is in ruins and Dres has to rethink its industry, Redoran has become more important to Morrowind.
