Custom Better Bodies based race, no first person hands

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:11 am

I'm trying to create a custom race that looks like a breton using the Better Bodies meshes. Everything works great but my hands don't show up in first person view.

I created new body parts from the Breton race and changed the ID's from there and they look like this:

b_n_human_f_wrist etc etc which uses the bb\bb_skinf_br.nif

All of the parts except the first person hands use that mesh. Here are my first person hands:

b_n_human_f_hands.1st

Mesh = bb\bb_handf_br.nif

Part type = skin

Female = checked

Race = Human (name of my custom race)

That's for the female and I'm playing as a female of course. I've only got the female setup so far.

I can't figure out why my hands are invisible.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Edit:

Hmm, saving and loading makes the hands visible. I read that in a mod readme once but I don't remember where. Not sure if that is just a custom race thing or if I have done something wrong.

Your hands are not showing up at race creation right?

That's because until you make your first save - your character has default male hands - weird but true

Either make the male version of your race as well or just save once you leave the census office and then load from your save to get female hands.
