Custom Character Creation

okay, its been a while since i played daggerfall, andi'd play it myself if it was running....but anyway, i have some questions about the custom class creation thingy in the game.

1) Do you still have racial bonues?
2) What is the maximum advantages and maximum distadvantages that you can have?
3) Was there birthsigns like in the newer games?

If you need tips about skills, I'll just go ahead and say that the languages are pretty much useless, and you should only pick one or two weapons. And you should not put skills like running, jumping, swimming, etc. as they'll constantly level you up, making the game a lot harder before your weapon/magic skills are good enough.

No birhtsigns, that's what the advantages and disadvantages are for, and no, there is no limits to how many of each you can have, but as you have more of one or the other the games either becomes a lot harder, or a lot easier to level up in.

As to your question about having racial abilities, yes. So, yes, if you want to cheese the game, play High Elf, which has immunity to paralysis, and then get loads of build points by taking "critical weakness to paralysis" or whatever it's called. Total immunity trumps weakness.

However, there are no attribute/skill bonuses due to race as in the other games, even though the manual and many sites say there are. The only thing that affects those is your class. Other than immunity to paralysis or frost (for high elves and nords, respectively), race is cosmetic.

There is a limit of I believe 8 or so each of advantages and disadvantages you can have. And many of them are mutually exclusive.
