why do they have so many customizable characters is it because when you create them they will be your squad in single player

It's part of Brinks uniqueness. You can customise your character, which is really rare for a FPS. Pleas read HORSEs compendium. (can someone give the link, I'm currently on my iPod which is quite unhandy to look up links)

Well, there are 16 character slots becuase there are alot of choices in this game, so you're given the priviliege to try everything, and still have slots open for something you wish!

Light Engineer, Soldier, Medic, Operative
Medium Engineer, Soldier, Medic, Operative
Heavy Engineer, Soldier, Medic, Operative

//12 Characters out of 16 Characters, 4 slots open for whatever you want to do if you follow this scheme :P

No. There's 16 characters which all have a look for both sides.

one of the things I look for in a game is coustemization.. it shows the game cares what you think and respects how you play.

You will see your character in cutscenes in singleplayer. In mutliplayer you will even see the characters of other players participating in the cutscenes.
In principle you can make 1 character, specialized in one class, with every bodytpe and still have 4 slots to play around with.

I hope they do a thing on the website that lets you customise a guy from the stuff you get right at the beginning of the game before release. Give us a taste, ya know?

i no that but i thought it would be cool to see your other created characters to participate as support characters in the story cut-scenes and as your group helping you attack or defend the objective

They also boast that you will recieve peices of clothing and accsesories based on in-game accomplishments. Thats really cool and makes a player even more indevidualized.. :D

There's a challange mode, to get to know the game and to offer a challenge. (One of the "more difficult" challenges: Win a map, without shooting a bullet. So basically you play a class, supporting the team and not shooting) The easier levels probably unlock stuff, but we don't really know anything about the higher levels except that they were designed to be challenging for the devs themselves

The challenges are said to be tied specifically to unlocking weapon gear - either weapons or attachments or both. customization options for characters (clothing and such) are said to be obtained automatically as you play the game.

Ugh, I hope the challenges aren't TOO challenging. There's too many games I've played where they make completely unreasonable challenges that only people that live to play the game can get =/

challenges have 3 levels, easy, game level, and SOB. Each level unlocks the next as well as, in their words "other cool stuff"

I know that, but some of the things these developers classify as "Hard" make me question if they've even actually played their own game.

Richard Ham has said the third level of challenge "Is a [censored]in' [censored] to complete" (and those really are his exact words)

Edit, oh, right, languge filter. 'Is a flipping witch to complete' would be paraphrasing

SD constantly does internal testing on Brink - they tend to play Stopwatch matches the most.

I hear ya, but hopefully the rewards will worth completing the challenges, and also come with a sense of rarity. Sporting something that was nearly impossible to get will show other players what a badass you are.

The challenges also have leaderboards, so you can play them for fun and try to beat other players score. Being number 1 would definitely show others what a badass you are.

Still much better than K/D whoring.

Tier 3 Challenges just shouldn't reward actual weapons.

Remember, Challenges are a separate option in the menu, not tied into the actual game, so players won't be ruining anyone elses experience by competing in them.

Really? It's not like they're integral to the game. Are you concerned that you won't be able to pull the harder ones off, and not be able to unlock the gear from them?
