Custom Weapon Skins : Othor Games

We know that if you pre-order the doom pack, you get a new weapon skin for some smg (forgot the name). But I was just thinking and I was like what if you could customize your own weapon skin, sorry if you guys arent getting what im saying.Here's an example: In mw2 theres digital camo, lets say in brink they have something that looks like digital camo but you can customize the color and such. I think it would be kinda cool.

Ok, So if I didn't understand your post, you tried to connect it to Modern Warfare 2, and that's cool.

Except I've never played MW2, so some more details would be really cool.

in rainbow six vegas 2, there is the capability to make custom camo patterns for your clothing. that would be great for brink.
i really would like to make a custom weapon skin. with their weapon viewing thing that you can do when customizing it. it would take up a good chunk of time making the perfect one.

That would be pretty cool, but i'm sure I can find a preset skin I quite like.

And even if this was in the game, it definitely wouldn't be included in the console version, only PC.

Yes I agree, but you can only change the colors in preset camos. :sadvaultboy: Oh well, at least we have camos.

I hope they're cool looking like Homefront, you can actually tell the gun looks different, that's how I hope it is!

I prefer presets over "man's copulatory organ"- (the actual name is censored, uhh huuh save our children from nature!) and swastika-guns.

Fairly certain its already in the game.

I do not agree. I think designers put too much work into giving this game a complete, pleasant to the eye look. The last thing we need is imaginationless children running around with pink guns.

As I've said before in other similar threads, this game definitely does not need custom skins, be it for guns or apparel. Multiple reasons, some more valid than others maybe (depending on your opinion) :

I (as well as others) don't want to see immature imagery; swastikas, hate speech, nudity are all possibilities that custom skins could introduce
The design team has made sure each team has a distinct palette, why have bothered if players could then just do recolors to get around it?
Additionally, they have put extra effort in making sure the available choices do mix and match well, something they can't do with custom content

Overall, I think not allowing custom skins is the best option and am glad they went that way.

Resistance and Security guns are really distinct. Security skins are clean and crisp, whereas Resistance guns are completely decked out with insane designs (see Gerund and Drognav).

to incorporate some sort of skin work like what Forza has for the vehicles or that nascar game would let you upload a pic for skinning on the game. Even through xbox. EA game you a "locker" to store pics. A design overlay was given for you to play with and you upload it. Go into the menus and apply. Was cool.

For every "custom" option that's more the system has to deal with, so I would rather have a few extra sets of skins to go with from the start, although for my weapon it isn't even much of an issue for me as most other players don't really see your weapon (just the bullets coming out).

As far as I know, there is no kill cam, and enemies may or may not be able to pick up your gun (I am not sure on that), but still, there isn't much of a need to show off a custom gun. In CoD, there is a kill cam, so when you kill someone with your custom gun, they see it. I am just not sure if there is enough of a reason in this game to need something similar. Not to mention, the character model customization seems very extensive.

I know there are gun camos, but I don't know if they're customizable. If so, awesome. If not, I seriously hope we get a lot of options. But I have faith either way that it will all work out. I've already seen a few options that look really cool, and with all of the other customization options they've brought, I doubt they would skimp on the guns in any way.

You can't pick up enemy guns that has recently been cut.

So you are suggesting to add in pre-designed camo patterns and allow players to chose the colors that go into said patterns? If so than I would like either this or a very large variety of camos/ skins.

And for the people who think camos/ skins on weapons are pointless than let me ask you this, what is the point of choosing a desktop background for your computer? It is personal customization. I find it enjoyable and I know I am not the only one.
