Customization of NPCs

Anybody feel this is kinda lacking in Skyrim?

I mean, if you reverse pickpocket better equipment onto NPCs, they don't equip it, at least not in any playthrough I've done.

With followers, if you give them equipment, they only wear it while they're following you. Tell them to get lost, and when you go back to get them again, they're in their normal clothing/armor.

And spouses, they still wear their default clothing after they're married, and there's no option to give them new clothing or to ask them to change their look like you can with the kids just by gifting them an outfit. Like say if I married Brelyna or Rayya, they both wear those ridiculous hoods all the time, or Rayya, Aela, and Mjoll, both never wash off their face paint. Or pretty much any spouse who wears casual clothing, like Ysolda or Sylgja, I might want to purchase a fine clothing from Radiant Raiment for them as a gift, but they would never wear it because of how the game is programmed.

Patch 2.0, when it eventually comes out, should amend this. Let us spoil and dress up our friends and spouses!

It's patch 1.10, not 2.0.

Poor console users, I keep a crappy non-functioning console around just so I can look at it and SMILE.

Once you get to ten, doesn't it just turn to 2.0?

It's like the number 20: there's no number called Tenteen.

No.

It'll go
1.10
1.11
1.12
1.13... and so forth.

2.0 would be something brand spanking new.

Yep, 2.0 would be considered a new version of the base game. As an example, the Enhanced editions of Baldurs Gate or Halo could be considered a 2.0 version.

A patch would only ever go to 2.0 if it made massive changes to how the game worked and played.

I would love to have facial customization of followers or NPCs. I loved Dragon's Dogma's pawn system, so to me it would be neat to have a custom follower. That's all I would aspire for in TES as of now. (Xbox)

Which is funny, because 1.10 is literally the same number as 1.1, and 1.3 would be greater than 1.10, ie, come after.

oh devs, you so silly.

Off topic...

Discussion is about customization, not how Bethesda chooses to categorize their patches.

On topic, Not sure why reverse pickpocketing doesn't work. Could be either something to do with how stats are set or scripts used by the NPCs.

Someone who's delved into the CK might be able to answer that one, assuming it's not a hardcoded thing.

Patches have always been lkie this.

I think it's more or less taken that 1.1 is actually 1.01, (The 0 is just dropped to avoid confusing people) therefore 1.10 is still higher than 1.1.

Funny this is that you could do it in Oblivion, as long as the item had 0 weight(reverse pickpocketing bound equipment onto Baurus and Jaufre was how I got them through the battle for Bruma and the final mission)

In Fallout 3 & New Vegas, you could do it as long as you didn't get caught. Which was also weird, because why would you get Bad Karma and get treated as a thief for GIVING someone something?

And in Skyrim, it just doesn't work the way it should.
