Cyborgs in Fallout 4

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 8:26 pm

Speaking of Terminator, it seems a bit too elaborate for Bethesda to create a town set in 2077 without using the art assets used for it in some other part of the game like VR Simulations or Time Travel. Fallout 2 has the Guardian of Forever so time travel is possible. Would be an interesting way to end the Fallout series. Have the protagonist travel back in time to stop the bombs. I seriously doubt Bethesda would do something like that since they want to milk Fallout for all its worth, but it might happen in Fallout 13.

Ah. I thought you meant a Cyborg perk as a general concept. Sorry of the confusion.

I agree though. It wouldn't be a good idea to tie that to Intelligence. A perk like that would be much better served tied to the result of a quest, or even just being the enhancements in a store.

Personally, I'm skeptical of the perk chart. Not just the speculation, but the execution of it in general. I'm worried that more than a few perks are going to come off as something that would be better served being tied to skills (RIP) rather than SPECIAL, and that some of them might not even feel like things that should be tied to that value of SPECIAL, if at all.

I voted "Implants Will Exist but Not Change Appearance." I think that is a shame, because I would love to see implants put into action. The problem is that it would add even more dialog for the inevitable "meet your spouse" scene. If Bethesda pulled this one off, I would be a happier camper though.

If implants doesn't change the protagonist's appearance, then there will be modders to create a mod to fix that. Unlike Fallout 3, everyone can use mods instead of just the players that got the PC version.

Man that would be so cool to see a cybernetic arm or leg on a character. *wishes furiously*

Especially, if it is a 1950s style cybernetic arm or leg. No sleek Deus Ex style cybernetics for Fallout.

I would most likely go for the adamantium skeleton and cyborg perks. :D

But i highly doubt, that we will see anything from it on the character. Will be most likely been an endoskeleton below the skin, never visible. If we can get additional more visible implants trough quests or by some crazy doctor is another question. I would endorse it.

But at least we can imagine then, that our character would look similar to this under its skin, when we have adamantium skeleton and cyborg on max.

(If somebody still haven't seen Terminator Genisys and still want to, he shouldn't look it. Spoiler )

Could easily be linked by srating that's how they're making the hyperrealistic androids... gave up on going fully artificial and just started cyborging normal people up the wazoo.

But the same amount of people will be making mods, since the creation kit will only be released on the PC. Just because more people can use mods doesn't automatically guarantee a specific type of mod will be made. Besides, there was a terminator-like mod for FO3, IIRC.

I'd definitely love cybernetics that visually alter the character... So long as they kept them in the retro future aesthetic. Now that I think about it, are there many illustrations from the 50s and 60s imagining cybernetics?

Maybe something resembling steampunk "prosthetics" but with sleeker, cleaner lines and more space age metallic shine?

Given that the textures and models will already be in the game to some degree for actual androids I don't think it's too farfetched.
