Cyrodiil and Oblivion Cities

Post » Sat Feb 15, 2014 6:38 am

the Devs stated in a diary some time ago that they did stay true to the established games where they could as far as cities, road locations, etc. so if you already played a previous title you should recognize where you are if its location is in game. :)

What is there to do in towns and cities in Cyrodiil?
Updated 04/01/2013 09:42 AM Published 04/01/2013 09:42 AM

Several towns in Cyrodiil, like Cheydinhal and Bruma, are home to citizens eager for protection and assistance as the war threatens to destroy their homes and ravage their land. Desperate, they’ll accept help from any Alliance, and they’re willing to pay. The citizens of towns in Cyrodiil are neutral towards player characters, but guards from the Alliance that holds nearby keeps will patrol the streets.

You’ll be able to complete repeatable quests for all the towns in Cyrodiil. Each town faces its own challenges; for example, Imperial forces still occupy the northern portions of Cheydinhal, and the citizens need your help to drive them out. Help the townspeople, and you’ll be rewarded with gold and experience.

I took a look at the knowledge base on www.elderscrollsonline.com. If its on the official site, its probably not breaking the nda to mention it.

OMFG can't wait to see Bruma!! I remember in Oblivion looking thorugh the Jerall mountains and thinking...wow, how would Skyrim be like?... nothing related to the topic but hey...it's fantastic to see how Elder Scrolls world is being made step by step. Let's hope to see the whole Tamriel in the future. can't wait for TES VI either...but ESO will make us enjoy until then!

Looks like the Youtubers got the green light to do Cyrodiil footage today. Check out the map of Cyrodiil in ESO at 3:03 in the video.

As I said, the map of Cyrodiil in ESO does not look anything like the map of Cyrodiil in Oblivion. ZOS has limited the area in Cyrodiil available for pvp. Next time, suggest you get to Cyrodiil before posting uninformed comments.

You BET! we're going to see all Nirn, if ZOS continues to polish the game, and keep the good work, month by month, there will be xpcas, til we got all Tamriel, then im sure another continents is going to be shown too.

Siiigh. Am I that hard to understand? I said: It's not accesible, because like you said they limited the regions of Cyrodiil you can play in. I have said this at least 3 times in this thread. And yes that specific part of the map you see in the video is zoomed in on Cyrodiil. So it shows the zone, what is playable. If you zoom out to see all of Tamriel, you will see the same Tamriel as allways, just like the interactive map I mentioned earlier. You can also see the areas of Cyrodiil where anvil, leyawiin and kvatch would be. But if you click on Cyrodiil (playable part) you will see that. Same for every other province in that damn map. High Rock has more than one zone. You can zoom into each of those zones to take a look at the playable area. I'm not uninformed, but you don't seem to get the point of what I'm saying. Just fyi and not implying anything, but you are not the only beta tester here.

you are talking about a political territory. And that map doesnt show at all that the geography is different. In fact it shows the SAME geography. You could superimpose ESO's map with oblivion's map and the geography (rivers lakes etc...) would be almost identical.

You either have cognitive issues OR are trolling.

Haven't really thought about it untill now, but I wonder if it's possible to actually enter the Imperial City as you could in Oblivion. Walking a big circle, going through all the districts while doing so.

Is there a market district, has the arena been build yet? Would be cool if one of the alliances could capture the Imperial City (I think that's how their top-ranking player gets crowned Emperor, right?) and consequently only people from that alliance are able to enter it. I haven't been in the beta, so I got no clue if it's going to be anything like this. Just speculating here.

With all the crap that went on in Cyrodiil concerning Imperial nobles worshipping daedra, it being the center of a 3 way war and more of that nastyness, It will not be the piecefull Imperial city we all know. Else it wouldn't really make sense.

Get real. If someone had a map that included only NY, MA, RI, NH, ME they couldn't say that is the map of the United States. You could throw in the entire East Coast and it still wouldn't be the map of the United States.

The guy was trolling and you fell for it.
