Another vote! I admit I love almost all the books-- it is so neat to have a game where every book is readable; in every other game I can think of when you have large collections of books you maybe have a few at best that you can read, and even then it is usually a passage or two.

From Fragment Four...

Topal the Pilot was enchanted with the islands
And the feathered men who lived there.
There the Niben stayed for a moon, and the bird
Men learned how to speak their own words,
And with taloned feet, to write.
In joy for their new knowledge, they made Topal
Their lord, giving him their islands for the
Gift.

Its written more in the poetic 'style' of Morrowind's books, which I adore. And I'm intrigued by the mystery of the Feathered Men.

My favorite right now is the Guide to Bravil. After I read it, I immediately started saving my Septims to move there.

Does it just have to be books found in Oblivion? Because I'm thinking of one of the few Morrowind-Only books as my favorite...

Palla
A Game at Dinner
The Real barenziah
The Wolf Queen ones
2920
I quite like the song of Pelinal as well.

I also liked Father of the Niben and the epic poem "Mannimarco King of Worms"

O sacred Isle Artaeum, where rosy light infuses air,

O'er towers and through flowers, gentle breezes flow,

Softly sloping green-kissed cliffs to crashing foam below,

Always springtied afternoon housed within its border,

This mystic, mist-protected hime of the Psijic Order:

Those counselors of kings, cautious, wise, and fair.

This thread is only about books from Oblivion. I believe the Morrowind section is more suitable for your favourites. You can always open a thread there.
I will probably read it too since I?m about to start the game for the very first time :tops:

The Real Barenziah

But only the original versions... they toned the Oblivion versions down considerably compared to previous games...

The Importance of Where. It's on a table in the Bravil jail. I had to laugh when I was basically reading it right in front of the guard as an escaped convinct, and he didn't notice me. Good read.

I also like the Argonian Account books, though I've only read 2 and 4 (trying to get to the others is a real pain in the neck).

Also, anything written by Alessia Ottus. She's a total bigot, but hey, she's amusing in her own way.

IIRC, a large number of books from MW are in Oblivion too. If it's Oblivion only, I'd have to go with Immortal blood, and that one book about Pelinal.

The lusty Argonian maid by far. I guess the five tenets and Argonian account books. Only read 2,3 and 4 though.

I just read Ruins of Kemel-Ze and it was really cool. The explanation of where Dwarven Armor comes from was very interesting.
