[RELZ] Cyrodiil NPC Remodeling Project: Bruma

Oh sorry I'll keep that in mind next time.

EDIT: I dunno why but it keeps ending the full mod transfer at 98%. I'm trying again now...but I cant seem to figure out why this is happening.

I'm having some problems with some clothes not displaying properly (much like the initial release of CNRP Chorrol):

Suurootan's Black Gilded Gloves and Black Leather Pants.
Solved this by using the Chorrol resources.

Fjottreid's Dwemer Googles are purple.

Countess' Bodyguard AKA Corporal Jamal: all his Ceremonial armour is not displaying.

I'm using version 0.2, downloaded the whole thing again to make sure, but still the problems noted above.

Can I just object to the naming of Privates as Privates?

Thats a modern designation not a medieval one. Plus its not proper Imperial Legion designation either.

Please if your going to make the effort to do something as amazing and cool as this please do it right. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Imperial_Legion

The above is a link to the ranks of the lower parts of the Imperial Legion below the Imperial Knights and Blades; proper designations that dont appear to have been changed between MW and OB.

Blame it on Wrye. The names are from the Guard_Names.csv that comes with Wrye Bash and which is an effort to personalize the guards, instead of making them nameless grunts.

I agree that Private sounds very modern, though.

I'm no expert on lore, but are the town guards actually Imperial Legion soldiers?

And how do you implement the rank of Spearman in Oblivion? As part of the further dumbing-down-for-console-kiddies Bethesda removed the Spear skill and I don't recall seeing many (if any) spears in the game.

As petrus points out, the names come from Guard_Names.csv in Wrye Bash. You can either deactivate that, or copy/rename/edit it to names/ranks that you like. The logic of Guard Names runs like:
1) Town guards are (mostly) not members of the imperial legion, although they enforce imperial law. (I'm not sure if IC guards are members of the IL either. They're clearly NOT regular soldiers, but rather are town guards.)
2) There's some variations between towns in how ranks are named.
3) Likewise, imperial legion soldiers who have road routes and and wander the forest have some special titles ("Roadsman").

The term private http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_(rank), so it's not that modern. As for Morrowind ranks, those are designed for the player to advance in (e.g. note that one of the ranks is "Agent" which presumably would be an unusual rank for a soldier to have. And as petrus points out, no spears.

Jantus Brolus' Fine Midnight Gloves are invisible too...

Or is it just on my system?
Haven't noticed anyone else having problems.

When I gave you the texture fix for the mod all I did for the invisible ones was resave those files, which updated the modified date to a more recent one. You might be having some sort of awkward invalidation issue related to time last modified, I really can't tell otherwise since no one else seems to be having the problem. I wont leave you hanging though, Do you have all the Official patches, Unofficial Patches, and using an archive invalidation method from OBMM or one described on http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/archiveinvalidation?

Check on all. I even use the Reset BSA Timestamps.

Which program did you use? NifScope is the only one I have. Maybe I should try loading the troublesome meshes into that program and save them?
BTW, I used PyFFI on all the meshes to optimize them, but I can'r imagine that should screw things up.

I'm fairly sure that clothing/armour meshes don't PyFFI correctly. Try using the original downloaded versions.

I think that was the earliest versions of PyFFI.
I did the load and save trick and lo and behold! it worked!

Well its good that it's fixed, but I hope the issue doesn't keep arising, it'd be a pain if you had to constantly do that :X

When I first read about this thread, I thought it would be kind of pointless; however, upon seeing what you have done, I simply have to say: WOW! Great work.

I'll be making a small update for Bruma. Adding a few new things, along with a new hair(by ThrottleKitty) for more traditional Nords.

Picture example here:

Question: If this is used with Wrye Bash, then it should not conflict with OOO, correct?

If you use Wrye Bash, you can use them together.

If you're not using Wrye Bash, you hit the "rule of one", and therefore can only use either-or.

I don't know what you're saying (have bad headache, sorry), so as I said, you can use a face changing and inventory changing plugin through the use of Wrye Bash.
