The Cyrodiil NPCs Remodeling Project: Bruma v02

v02 Update!!

Changelog for v02:
1. Changed the guard scarf to the shorter one as per request.
2. Fixed minor error with Snar the Cook.
3. Added a skeleton fix for the scarves to work. Should fix the lines issue some people had with the scarves

Don't forget to rate!

I hope I get some good feedback in the morning. Let me know if there are any bugs too.

I made a new thread hub so you can monitor the mod's total progress. Check it here: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=926620

Fixed up descriptions (yeah again...) the mod actually doesn't REQUIRE OBSE or Wrye Bash, however in order to make sure everything shows, and to make it fully compatible with all other mods, they're both highly recommended. Tail slot equipments wont show without OBSE, and the faces will change completely to Vanilla if not merged in Wrye Bash. I applied the BASH tags necessary already, so just merge it and go. Hope that helps some.

Name: [ALPHA] Cyrodiil NPC Remodeling Project: BrumaVersion: 0.1aDate: 12/13/2008Category: Items, Objects and ClothesRecommended: Oblivion Mod Manager, Wrye Bash, OBSE, TNRAuthor(s): Shingouki & DurzaSource: [src="http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/925139-relz-cyrodiil-npc-remodeling-project-bruma/http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21388"]http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21388In this mod, each character is clothed based on their personality, job, race, hobbies, where they live, social class, etc. A lot of time and love has gone into each NPC and I have attempted to make each NPC as unique, immersive and believable as possible. It is my hope that this mod will be enjoyable to those who use it and will hopefully breathe new life into the NPCs in Tamriel.I also VERY highly recommend this be used alongside [src="http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/925139-relz-cyrodiil-npc-remodeling-project-bruma/http://www.stephanewuttunee.net/tnr_home.html"]TNR here. Many of the faces and hairs were designed with TNR in mind, so to get the full effect of the mod, you should have TNR alongside it and have merged with Wrye Bash. Install (PLEASE READ FULLY!!!)=======This mod will work fine out of the box, but there will be some compatibility issues and certain things wont show up. So, for this mod to work 100% and to be compatible with all other mods, you need to have Wrye Bash and OBSE. Here are their downloads: [src="http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/925139-relz-cyrodiil-npc-remodeling-project-bruma/http://wrye.ufrealms.net/Wrye%20Bash.html#Installation"]Wrye Bash [src="http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/925139-relz-cyrodiil-npc-remodeling-project-bruma/http://obse.silverlock.org/"]OBSE Wrye Bash is used so that ONLY the NPC Inventories are imported into the game. This makes sure that my mod doesn't mess with NPC faces or any other data. Also, due to a tail equip script I implemented on certain items OBSE is necessary for those tail items to show (without the script any items on the tail slot will not be equipped). This includes items such as capes, beards, backpacks, and other miscellaneous items.INSTALL EXPLANATION-------------------This archive is distributed in what LHammonds calls OMOD-Ready format. It allows you to manually extract and install like most other mods but it alsoallows you to use Oblivion Mod Manager and import this archive with all thesettings pre-configured for an OMOD file.Pick which method you are going to use for installation:Manual Installation- = or = -OBMM InstallationManual Install--------------1. Now this is some very impressive work! One day, maybe every vanilla NPC will look unique, if you can keep going.

Thanks! That's definitely my aim. I've done a lot of NPCs I haven't shown yet, I was just concentrating a lot on this release. I think Chorrol will be next. I might also do Cheydinhal, Skingrad or the Imperial City if I'm brave enough. For now though I'm going to sleep :D.

Edit: NOTE: I Highly Recommend this be used alongside TNR here: http://www.stephanewuttunee.net/tnr_home.html Many of the faces and hairs were designed with TNR in mind, so to get the full effect of the mod, you should have TNR alongside it and merged with Wrye Bash. Ack...I forgot to explain that too. This mod requires Wrye Bash as well as the Inventories need to be imported as well in order to not mess with NPC faces as well. Sorry for not putting this in the beginning >_<.

SUPER EDIT: OK OK OK I REALIZED I MADE ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE >____________<. This mod also requires OBSE due to a TailEquip script I implemented on certain items >_<. I'm going to update the descriptions shortly.

Sorry for double post, just putting this up there since I had to make a bunch of changes. I fixed up the descriptions, readme in this thread and there's a new fixed Readme Download with a picture of where to do the checks for Wrye Bash. Now I can sleep @_@. PLEASE PLEASE give me feedback! I want to know how people think of it and what I can do to improve.

Works with TNR, requires Wrye Bash, this is all very GOOD to hear, as it means that it will likely be compatible with most other mods (after Bashing)! I'd been going to ask whether Wrye Bash could be used, and you've already given the answer :)

this is fantastic! absolutely great, this what I thought to be one big flaw in vanilla oblivionm, lack of diversity in clothing hairstyles, etc. Some more varuiety in body types would be amazing but a little too much to ask. but thanks thanks thanks! hope you continue for the rest of the cities.

Cheydinhal. I've always liked Cheydinhal, though I can't think of a specific reason why.

Cheydinhal was the first town I worked on, but I think I could do a better job on it now as compared to before. So I'll take Cheydinhal into consideration. I probably wont touch
Spoiler
the DB
as there are a lot of mods that change their clothing. (One is my personal favorite though its not lore related). But if you guys really want me to, I can always change their look. I'll be sure to change them in a few ways that I was really planning to: Ie: Making some parts of the members sinister that many other mods didn't touch. The rest of the npcs in Cheydinhal aren't so difficult by comparison (I don't think they will be at least). Any other town suggestions?

P.S. I reallllllllly would like some extra support and help from other willing modders. This project is really tedious, and it'd be cool to get extra support for certain things: Model tweaking, new models, new textures, ideas, etc. I have another texturer working with me: Durza, but it'd be nice to get extra support for other things. If anyone is willing to join the team it'd be well appreciated :D.

It'd be fun to do Anvil or Leyawiin. "Themed" towns can be fun, and since you've already done one (Bruma's Mountain theme), I'd like to see what you could do with a Port themed town!

I have a lot of good ideas for Anvil, but once I do Anvil I'm going to have to definitely choose a body mod. As anvil is a port town, there are beaches nearby, and I'm going to assume it gets hot there at times, so I'll be giving many people(civilians), shorter clothing: Shorts, tanks, etc. Port guards will most likely also have this sort of shorter clothing. The exception to this will be the seafarers, who I will mostly dress in common pirate fashion based on their job as a sea-farer. In addition I'm hoping to do something really special for the "Sirens". I'm going to need some suggestions of seductive(but no nudity please), clothes to place on them. Preferably ones with a lot of body mod support.

Durza I wanted to ask you something about Leyawiin to be honest. I'll pm you shortly.

No shorts or tank tops, please. That would clash horribly with the Medieval feel of Cyrodiil. I can understand shorter trousers or short sleeved shirts, but no modern undergarments. In addition, you might want to try something Middle Eastern for some people, especially Redguards, since Anvil is on the border of Hammerfell.

I didn't plan anything modern, I'll give some screens of what I mean later. But just as to say that the clothes will probably not be AS long as they are normally. And I know nothing about Oblivion Lore. Can you explain why Middle Eastern for Hammerfell/Redguards? o_O?

Fixed up descriptions (yeah again...) the mod actually doesn't REQUIRE OBSE or Wrye Bash, however in order to make sure everything shows, and to make it fully compatible with all other mods, they're both highly recommended. Tail slot equipments wont show without OBSE, and the faces will change completely to Vanilla if not merged in Wrye Bash. I applied the BASH tags necessary already, so just merge it and go. Hope that helps some.

Can you explain why Middle Eastern for Hammerfell/Redguards? o_O?

Because Hammerfell is based on the Middle East and the Redguards are based on Arabs?

Seriously, play Daggerfall. They've got camels and mosques. They're so blantantly Arabs that it's not even funny.

Anyway, when you do Anvil I'd say you could have a lot of fun with the Redguards. Give them some scimitars, robes, and headwraps. That stuff.

well after an hour I finally got Wyre Bash installed and this mod patched with TNR.

It was definetly worth the wait though. I was blown away by how awesome all the NPC's looked. For whatever reason, Alval Uvani still looks the same, but most of the other town's folk look outstanding!

My main complaint: all the clothing looks so cool that I want to murder everyone just to get their clothes! :D

I'm can't wait until you release the next city!
