[RELZ] Cyrodiil NPC Remodeling Project: Dark Brotherhood

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:58 am

I've never needed it to be honest. I have the most mods I've ever run right now and it's not over 30. Being in software QA I'm a firm believer in keeping things simple and not complicating things if I don't have to. Trust me, I can't do what I do without that tool. I love it. I just use other parts of it.

Ah. I see. if you only have 30 or so mods, then it's not really needed. I made a list recently of what mods I just couldn't live without, and after counting up the plug-ins that I considered bare-minimum, I had 76. I have 143 right now (93 active), so even at my level I don't really need it (I don't use FCOM right now. Just OOO+MMM), but I still have a bashed patch. Still, back when I had like 296 plug-ins, and for anyone who has a high amount, it became necessary, simply so I see the content added to the game.

30 mods does seem like a small amount though. I guess I'm just too much of a mod lover. Sad...

Not sad, good! Your mod love probably brought you here to my mod, for which I am very thankful ^_^.

I love these mods, but I've encountered a glitch with the Fighter's guild OOO one. The guild no longer recognizes me as a member for training purposes!

Have you done the optimized textures yet? I'm waiting to DL it until then.

I'm taking a quick break from modding actually, so it may be a while before I release these. Sorry >_<

Oh... that's okay. I'm taking a quick break from Oblivion to play Dragon Age. :) I figure by the time I'm done with that, you'll have the new textures. I was actually considering not bothering to join the DB (my current PC is going to be an assassin), but then I remembered this mod - I really want to check it out.

I released this quite a while back, and was really curious if anyone who used it had finished the storyline and if they could give some feedback on it. I was curious to see how people took the quest, if it felt like a huge step up from the original, really immersive, etc. but I haven't really gotten any feed back yet. For those who have played it and finished it, can you give me some sort of feedback? I'd really appreciate it.

It actually made me finnish the quest this time, good job! really immersive and CNRP is something I can't just play without, hoping for Thief's guild and Mages guild, but i'm pretty sure you're gonna make the cities first =)

I'd love to try the DB faction quests, but I have been working on building my Modblivion for some time. Will post once I have tried it out. Your character variations are the best! Can't wait for your future additions!

I agree - your characters are awesome. Keep up the great work, I'm sure there's lots of people eager to see your next set of remodels. Which faction or city are you planning on tackling next?

Are you ever going to do an optimized version? :D But seriously - I'd try it, except I think I borked up my chances of getting into the DB... I killed Lucien when I first met him. I tried the console command to resurrect him, but I'm not sure if it worked; I've got 6-7 murders on my sheet, but he hasn't come back. :(

Hello,

I have very recently stumbled upon your lovely mods, and I can't get over what a difference they make in the cities! I could not play Oblivion without them. Leyawiin, Anvil, Skingrad, Bravil, and the Imperial City just seem so...lifeless now! This mod should be much more widely used!

Now, on a related note, I have noticed that alot of people have asked for a patch for OOO. I just happen to have created one for my own game, so if you have no objections I could upload it for you?

As for the OOO Patch, go for it! I really appreciate help like this, since I dont have as much time for modding as I once did.

P.S. By any chance did you try out the Dark Brotherhood Release too? I'm curious to know more about how people felt about the immersion factor of it.

Hello shingouki!

No, I have not finished the Dark Brotherhood Questline yet, but I have started it! I must say the outfits are absolutely lovely, and it is most certainly more immersive to play than it was before!!! Great job!

Now the patch for OOO can be downloaded http://www.4shared.com/file/198300510/767a601b/CNRP_DB_for_OOO.html

As with the other OOO patches, you either use this esp or the original esp but NOT BOTH!

If some of the clothing is not showing up, load this after Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp or (if your using FCOM) after FCOM_Convergence.esp. The clothing will show up then. For some reason, the bash patch tends to import OOO clothing on a couple of the characters, even when this plugin's inventory is merged into the bashed patch (actually, I found this to be true for the original plug-in as well, and I know of at least one other player that experienced this!).

Finally, if there are any problems, questions, concerns, ect... let me know!!

Thanks so much for your work!

Edit: If at all possible can you put this on tesnexus? That way people can easily refer back to you and rate it. Also, I'll put a link to it in my mod on the nexus with credit to you. Thanks so much for your support!

You need ONLY this esp loaded, cnrp db for ooo has all the same information as the original esp, except the stats of certain characters and items. If you have both loaded, then you may suffer from problems in-game. Boss will not recognize this plugin because it is new. It will not have been added to the Boss Masterlist. Instead, you will need to move the plug-in yourself. It is best if it loads after Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.esp (or FCOM_Convergence.esp if your playing FCOM). Hope that helps!!

Hey Shingouki thanks for keeping up this awesome work!! I'd just thought I'd pop in and drop two links in here for you that may or may not help you more diversify your NPC's for future releases.

First,
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1060697 A resource script system (for lack of a better phrase), that can conceptually give NPC's minds of their own. (with your guidance of course :P)

And second,
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1069780 You can make people fatter or skinner without having to add in new skeletons!

Glad I helped. Your mods are one of my must haves so anything I can do to make them better will ultimately work out for me in the end :P
Except of course, get off my lazy butt and learn how to mod faster ;)
