The Cyrodiil NPCs Remodeling Project

http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=926620
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=993134

For quite a while I wanted to create a mod that addresses the lack of diversity of clothing on various npcs in the game. But I wanted to try to create a mod that alters the clothing of various Npcs not just to accentuate diversity, but to create a look based on that PERSON. Meaning, handpicking clothing/accessories/etc. to best fit the NPC's general disposition, job, hobbies, etc. using the amazing mods contributed by various people while striving for something like the diversity that TNR gave. This mod has been quite an undertaking so far but it has overall been extremely fun! I hope you guys enjoy it.

Most likely this will be the upcoming mod order.

1) Bravil
2) Thieves Guild *
3) Leyawiin
4) Kvatch *
5) Daedric Shrines *
6) Anvil
7) Imperial City
8) Inns *
9) Small towns *
10) Wilderness dwellers (This is probably the hardest group to...work with sleep.gif)
11) Everyone else

* Means that these can jump higher in the list because of their ease of being finished, most notably the Daedric Shrines.

This character hasn't been done yet but I just wanted to show this off. I found this neat little gem inside of Slof's Beefcake Armors. It's a set of bracers/gauntlets that have lockpicks secured at the top!
These will go on all trainers of Security, so keep a lookout for them :3.

Wow, you've outdone yourself with the DB stuff! I really like most of the clothing you chose, it's very fitting. I especially like all the small details, like that one guy holding a candle instead of the usual (and horribly boring) torch.
Antoinette Marie looks beautiful and deadly, very well done. Vincente Valieri is very nice too, although his clothes could use some more detail (making them look a little bit dusty and old would certainly help the impression of a very old vampire). Norindor is also great, and almost all of the side characters that are involved in the quests are very cool. The only complaint I'm having there is the prison guard, whose armor is MUCH too bulky for a prison guard (whom I actually wouldn't expect to wear any armor at all, but I understand Oblivion works a little different there).

What I don't like are the daedric elements and the necromantic elements in the Dark Brotherhood (daedric pauldrons, skulls everywhere)... because the DB, vampires and necromancers are already factions in the game that are hard to tell apart, and this kinda makes it worse. Would be nice to rather see more of the "lunatic" side of the DB instead. (Reason for not liking the daedric armor stuff is simply that it is too bulky and doesn't have a lot to do with murderers; if anything related to daedric, you could give them elements of your Mephala worshipper clothes)
This is supposed to be constructive criticism in the case that the DB part of this mod is still a WIP, I hope you don't take it the wrong way :)

Thanks for your kind words. As for your suggestions, I see where you're coming from, and I like some of the suggestions but if I change too many of what I already have it wont feel natural to me.

But things I might change in the future are:

1) Daedric Pauldrons on the Mages: I mostly set this up as I assumed that Sithis was a Daedric god, but I realize after some research just now that he isn't. There isn't much else I can use to emphasize Sithis off the top of my head though (More dark clothing I guess?) but that's about all I can come up with. So For now it stays until I can find a replacement. It actually isnt as frequent as you may think, just on a select few.
2) Dusty Suit - I like this idea, but I'm a bit lazy to implement it. Although in some respects I do like him looking as articulate as possible, it's still a good idea. If anyone wants to create a dusty texture for me, they can pass it on and I'll implement it.
3) Skulls - All of the skull placement is hand picked out, with the exception of some models that are just set up that way (Gogron's armor, some staffs for example). So it isn't just skulls everywhere, trust me xD.

Things I probably wont change are:
1) Prison Guard armor - I love this armor. I feel personally, that since it's the IMPERIAL PRISON, it just has to be a bit more over the top. I feel also that the armor fits the description many give the prison guards. They're cruel, harsh, and scary. Although I cant depict that through their attitude, I'm more than sure you'd be very scared of a giant in black colored imperial gear. For me it just fits, so it'll probably stay.

As for telling them apart, don't worry, when I get to handling those other factions, you'll definitely be able to tell the difference. I have some really cool things planned out for the Necromancer and Daedric factions. =]

As for your suggestion that the lunatic side of the Dark Brotherhood be shown more...well...lets just say you'll get to get your fair share of that in the mod ;D.

The mod actually isn't really a WIP anymore, it's done, I'm just adding some enchantments on equipments and releasing it, probably today. So you can test it all out and see how it all fits together. I worked really hard on this one and I personally love it to tears, so I hope you guys do too.

I'll keep you guys posted and let you know as soon as the mod is out.

While Sithis is not a Deadric god per se, he is the 'father' of the Daedra, if you will. His is everything chaotic and his primal force is change. Like I said, the Daedra are the Sithis-aligned et'Ada than were born from the interplay of Anu and Sithis.

So he is still very closely related to the Daedra and you can say their personality branches off from Sithis' own.

All that aside, I can't wait for the release! Keep up the good work, and thanks again for all the hard work you've put into these gems!

Well the Dark Brotherhood release is done, fully tested, etc etc. But I don't like how big the file size is (half a GB without compression). I'm going to upload it now as a release, but probably this saturday (not today/friday because its my birthday) I'll release an optimized texture pack. Man this was a pain to do but super fun. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Edit: File uploading now. Check out the THread here: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1053958

I wont be here for a few days probably, so post all your Q/A's, requests, reactions, complaints for this release there. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Thanks for all the happy birthdays. i'm late too on receiving them. I had a great birthday, my friends pitched in and bought me a PS3, I was amazed. Other than that though I've just been taking a quick break from modding and trying to run a business a bit. But I will be back soon once I have more time again.

I've installed and reinstalled a number of times, but Snar the Cook still has a missing mesh. Using the OOO compatibility esp and scarf fix.

Me too, it's fantastic and one of the best ways to add some awesome diversity to NPCs! Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed problems (severe lag and crashing) with CNRP Cheydinhal? Every time I get in or around that city, I experience stuttering, lag, and constant crashing. When I disable CNRPC, it goes away. I'm using FCOM, and I have the updated esp, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I really like this mod and I want to keep the new NPCs in Cheydinhal, but I can't figure out what the problem is, so I'll just disable it for the time being. :(

I haven't seen that issue in Cheydinhal. I did see this though:

In the DB Remodeling there is a bug. I killed an innocent and no matter what Lucien Lachance would not appear when I slept and this mod was enabled.

As soon as I unchecked the esp and reloaded, he appeared as expected when I slept. I then went back and checked it off and reloaded.

I love what was done with all the DB members, etc. Very nice. Just be aware of this issue.

Not to sound insulting at all but iirc, you don't use Wrye Bash right? I find that Wrye Bash drastically increases the compatibility of mods, and mine is no exception. Since I change aspects of the inventory, there are certain items I remove that *MIGHT* change aspects of the game. But I really...sincerely doubt it. I only change the inventory of npcs as it relates to clothing and not any quest functionality or anything like that. But that's the point in me suggesting use of Wrye bash as a just in case mechanism. If you don't use the mod as suggested its really hard for me to help =/.

But on the other hand, I have tested my mod from the beginning as well and I had no issues with meeting Lucien Lachance. Meeting him is really critical to my mod, as I wanted to make him look the scariest out of everyone you meet. His appearance is supposed to be a truly haunting one so I tested it numerous times to make sure. Perhaps there's some conflict with the mods you use...but I can't really be sure.

Not really concerned. I got around it easy enough. If nobody else saw it it could be just about anything. I don't have any mods that would conflict with DB and I don't use FCOM, MMM, etc, etc.

Quick question, I use ooo and I know that it say only use one esp.. So I would use the ooo esp for the install. My question is do I need the full install of the mods and just deactive them like eve hceg or do I just need the ooo esp for each of the different downloads like bruma or fighters guild? Any help would be appreciated

Sorry I need to read under the download better where it says use the ooo esp sorry for the post

It's no problem, but for my mod to work you have to have it enabled. You also should only use one ESP, whether its the OOO one or the normal one that comes with CNRP.
