Cyrodiil Shattered - Wootz

AceCataphract, just post it. I am not the creator of the RP, but just started the post to keep it alive. So, post it, and like Wooly said, we'll look it over.

And, instead of Pirates, I suggest a Mercenary group, just so you can go under the wing of an official army and not get attacked everywhere you go. Just a suggestion, feel free to be a pirate.

Oh, and

EDIT:
...go with some looting boys and go around terrorizing the beast races.

I don't suggest that, as I will steal your ship and drown your crew.

Short Biography: Candelesian has lived on a ship for most his life. When he was nine, his parents were divorced and later both died. He was living in the alleys of Anvil, scavenging all the food and supplies he could. That was, until the captain of the Sub Rosa came along. He convinced Candelesian to follow him and become an "adventurer". He lived on the Sub Rosa as a deckhand until he was 17, and by then he was premoted to First Mate. One day, a deckhand made a certain proposal to Candelesian. The deckhands didn't like the Captain, and the men were willing to follow Candelesian if he killed the captain and took over the Sub Rosa. It was an offer he couldn't refuse. Even though the Captain was like a father to him, Candelesian couldn't pass up the opprotunity to be captain himself. The next night he snuck into the Captains cabin, and slew the captain with his steel shortsword. He couldn't believe it. The captain was like a father to him. He hated everybody now, everyone on the cursed ship! After Candelesian took over as captain, he hired a gang of around a dozen mercenaries. He took a " vacation" off the ship and ordered the mercenaries to slay every man on board, all 8 of them. He then permenantly hired the mercenaries and tought them how to sail and capture ships. After that, he started the Blood Sails, a group of pirates. 5 years later, he had 4 ships and 120 followers. The Faction was growing fast, and it was becoming a larger and larger threat to the Empire.

Faction Sheet

Rank: Supreme Captain
Faction Name: Blood Sails
Troop Numbers: 12 ships and 300 pirates. During an operation, Candelesian usually has around 100 extra mercenaries.
Troop Description: Each ship is unique, but most are 120 feet long and 40 feet wide. Each pirate is lightly armed and armored, with usually a cutlass or longsword. The mercenaries Candelesian uses are heavier armed orcs and nords from the Gold Coast.

Name of troops: Scabs
( Lowest rank troops. Hunstman leather pants, sack cloth sandals, some have chainmail cuirass, some bare-chested. Weapons are swords and bows )
Name of troops: Toxins
(Usually mercenaries, these heavy-duty Orcs and Nords go into battle with heavy armor on and carry all weapons. They are the tanks of the Blood Sails.)
Name of troops: Diseases
(These special forces troops are experts in inflitration and sabatoge. They usually wear a head wrap/turban of some sort and black robes. Armed with bows and weak daggers.)
Name of troops: Legions
(These are the elite pirates. They are in charge of what goes on, and when it goes on. They are basically the Council, just bigger. They're armor consists of enchanted chainmail or elven full armor except for helmets. Some wear hoods. Their arsonal of weapons consists of Enchanted bows, swords, and everything one-handed. Some carry ebony claymores.)

It's fine with me. However, 12 ships seem a little much. A usual pirate crew has one ship, two if your lucky. I'm not so sure on Pirate Lore, so we'll see the other people say what's goin' down.

Alright, but I put 12 because they've been around for a long time, and it's not a single crew. It's a "Pirate's Clan," if you will.

Post how many of each, and describe your ships. Looks better than a lot of people that are new though. No joke. You won't be half bad man.

I am going to say this:

The armor and weapon system in Oblivion is B.S.

Mail is heavy armor, and they just do that for the game. One type or armor is just more rare, not necessarily that much better.

Tell how many of each troop you have. Look at the wealth of your crew, and what they can afford individually. If your captain is heartless like he is, then he shouldn't give anybody anything, leaving them to purchase weapons for themselves.

Describe your normal build more too, and his hair style. About full leather, does he wear a helmet? Aye, a captain rich should have some money, and get something better than some short blade.

You figure, you got a bunch of ships. Ships cost some dough, even if you did loot them, it cost money to repair them, and keep them in check. :P

Yes, but he's not a totally heartless and selfish guy, just wants money. I guess I'll make him richer as the game progresses, because, like you said, he needs to pay for repair and such.

Plus, I thought that pirates buying their own stuff was a given, I never thought of that. Thanks. As for the other ideas, nothing to argue as you're right, I should have done that.

PS> I got an idea, I'd make it so that everyone is very poor and buys their own stuff, except for the Legion's. and, what did you mean by this:

I'd say 300 pirates in total is way too small, unless you mean 300 a ship. You may want to knock the ship number down at least some and the crew number up. I don't think large pirate navies were too common, although my pirate knowledge is better on ye olde Caribbean-based pirates, mostly stemming from the book Captain Blood. The hero of the book has a fleet of IIRC 5 ships at the peak of his career (and trust me, he's a genius and damn lucky) and the vaguely listed number of 'over a thousand men'. Considering that his ships weren't the largest (Blood's flagship had 40 cannons), knock down the number some depending on what you're using - galleys or more north-esque ships of medieval Europe.

Also, I don't think pirates would wear much armour if at all. They live off the loot, a good part of which they spend in docks with suspicious women and in inns most likely; plus most pirates are escaped prisoners or people driven out of their normal lifestyle and forced to resort to piracy, IIRC. I don't think they'd wear stuff like Elven, the captain and his top team may have more expensive clothes and some armour, but probably the bulk of the crew would wear leather jackets or padded stuff or something like that and use shorter weapons that'd be more effective in cramped ships during boardings and the like.

Alright, I think I'll take the ship # down to 8?

# of men will stay the same.

Kind of ships, I'm thinking weak galleys. Big, but weak.

But what about mercenaries, can't they have heavy armor and stuff?

And the Legions are pretty elite, why can't they wear at least chain?

If they're galleys you're going to need rowers, big ships mean bigger numbers of them. Take that into account. I don't think 8 ships could be crewed by 300 men, more around 2-4 ships I'd say for that number of men depending exactly what crew composition.

The mercenaries would likely wear random armours of varying quality, I don't think they'd have anything excellent. A few may have plate cuirasses or something like that, but I don't think too many would. As for the Legions, you don't specify how many of them are there. If they're not a big bunch, most likely yeah, they'd have armour of varying sort, but I highly, highly doubt they'd have anything in the range of elven armour or ebony weapons.

I stil ldon't think the Legions should carry ebony claymores - one, they'd most likely be very unpractical to use in a ship and two they'd be very expensive, mostly for high nobility probably. Same for full enchanted armour, just a full suit of chainmail is already expensive and to have it all enchanted would cost a fortune. Unless they robbed a ship that was carrying a huge treasure (but was hugely guarded as well, keep that in mind) they'd have no means of getting all that stuff since saving up money isn't a quality most pirates would probably have.

I appologize if I'm annoying like this; I'm quite a realism-freak.

Lol. Believe it or not, your realism-freakyness is actually helping. I guess I should change the legions up a bit, might change their name to go with the human body theme.

Seriously, you're not annoying, but is there anything else I should change?

I mean the deal with the Ebony stuff.

That isn't that much better. They are pirates, not noble warriors.

If you want warriors, go with some mainland guys,

I may 'own' the Nordic faction as of now, but I have half the army of White Run and a fort to the east, Fort Horuun (I think that is how you spell it).

The army of Bruma is still here, and the militia are available, although, they will come in later, for defense purposes. I still haven't brought the tongues out yet.

Anyone who wants some Nords can have them. We could have 50,000 more troops, in logic. Although, I will not try to exceed 30,000 in the faction at one time, unless we are fighting 100,000 thousand troops...

@ Wooly, Im not sure if W00tz meant for the troops numbers to be so high, but I could be wrong

100,000 seems excessive... for the unorganized that is

To be more precise, Yoku for 'Warrior Wave', which is what happened after Yokuda sank and the then-Yokudans arrived at Tamriel, Hammerfall and the warriors had to pave the way for their rulers to come to the new home in safety; the Yokudans took their new name from that. Redguard is only an Imperialized form of that.

I don't have a port. However, if I ally with the Imperials, maybe we could do that.

Or, you can dock your ship at the waterfront, and come up to Bruma.

Just depends.
