Cyrodiil, the centre of the empire...

one thing that has bothered me the most from playing oblivion in the past is the lack of power the empire looks to have. since it is the centre of the imperial world, i expected a much larger imperial city, various towns surrounding it nearby and a huge dock full of ships etc.

But looking at the game, the imperial city is... fairly small from what i expected, the towns were located further out, enemies were wandering about just outside of the gats i.e. mages.

is the imperial city like this because of game limitations back in 06? or was it intended to be so... small?

im not biting at the game or anything, i still find it an epic game which is why im saving up for oblivion collectors edition etc.

im just generally asking questions about the game/empire/lore in this topic! :)

thanks for reading!

Yes the main reason that the Imperial City is so underpopulated is because of the game's engine. Its the reason I don't like the imperial city is because its so lacking. :(

its a shame how my expectations grew even more from oblivion over the coming years, things start to look worse and places become smaller and then it leads me to question it all. its just impulse from newer gen games i guess.

oblivion is still in my heart regardless <3

are there any mods that... populates the imperial city more?
or are there any mods that add more buildings around the imperial city?
