D11 patch

I read that the game will be purely dx 9, but did they mention anything like a dx11 patch after release like crysis 2 did?

I mean more in the vain of taking advantage dx 11's new features. Skyrim would totally look beast with tesselation, think of all the mountains and rocks in skyrim.

Support for DX11 is more important than Bethesda doing the work at this point, someone will do it eventually.

If only ...

Yes, Skyrim is basicall a DX9 game. DX11 is only used for performance gains. I wish they would release a DX11 patch, or even DLC, with up-to-date shaders and possibly tessellation ...
We should bring it up once in a while after release. Maybe they will listen if we annoy them enough :P

I really do hope that Bethesda comes out with a DX11 patch for Skyrim. I mean, it would really boost the game's overall performance and look.

Top-notch graphics? Not while Todd considers Xbox to be the best platform, no sir.

They literaly have no reason to make PC version an eye candy. Then console players will feel... quite butthurt, if I might say.

In one of the early interviews, Todd mentioned that the game will take advantage of DX11 optimization features, just not the eye candy stuff like tessellation. So you should get a better frame rate if you have a DX11 card.

Of course an update patch for DX11 features and a 64-bit executable would be great but it seems unlikely IMO. I'm still hoping for an official high res texture pack.

It is sad that new games are designed around the limitations of consoles. Instead they should be designed around high end PCs and then cut back to run on consoles and provide graphics options to make them playable on low end PCs.
