My six year old daughter does the same thing. Climbs up into my lap, insists she just wants to watch, then starts telling me what my targets are. "No, shoot THAT one next!"
She wouldn't hurt a fly in real life, but in games, she just loves to see them go BOOM!
Thats what's so good about video games. You escape real life things and do what ever you can in a game that you will not do in real life.
Well except the time when my son 6 or 7 at the time, took $50 bill out of my wallet and hit it out side under a bush. He said he was being like Oblivion and being a pirate for his pirate stash.
