"Daddy don't kill them, they are Cute!"

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:04 am

My son keeps telling me not to kill the Geckos because they look so cute. I even thought they were so cute as well. I even love how the "walk" or "run". So does anyone else have this problem? If you don't have kids, do you think the Geckos are cute, well, till they attack you. LOL.

I don't have kids, but my friend tried to stop me killing them as he thought they were cute, so i know exactly where you are coming from. Try saying that to the larger ones that want to burn you to a crisp though, Cuteness goes out the door when you're on fire.

You can get Animal Friend as a perk at level 12, I think (with a Survival skill of 45). I used to feel really bad whenever I killed a Young Bighorner or a Coyote. :(

I'm happy killing any bugs though. :flamethrower:

I love reptiles, but I dont find these things to be cute. They look like deranged muppets on meth.

My son is bloodthirsty little monkey. Last night:

Me: *sneaking over a hill*
Him: Daddy, there's one! Get it!
Me: *pulls out Lucky revolver*
Him: No, Daddy, the BIG gun!

He's 5 :D

I'll admit, the way then run at you with those glistening maws open and ready to chomp a bit out of you is actually quite cute... but when it comes to me vs. them, I choose me every time.

When they spot me and come running they look so happy to see me!

Then their happy heads disappear.

Yeah I know what you mean. At least once they attack, I don't feel so bad then. Gecko Steaks are shure tastey eh?

I don't really have this with the Geckos, but I do feel a sick combination of guilt and triumph when I see "Sneak Attack Critical on Coyote Pup" show on my HUD.

Between Primm and Nipton if you follow the railroad instead of the normal road, about half way there you will come across a ton of coyotes.

Aditionally there's a coyote den, not a cave you enter, but just an indent in the rockface. I walked over there and started killing all the coyotes.

While I was doing it I noticed in V.A.T.S some of them were kind of small-ish?

So I walk over to loot... And it's one big mommy one, and like five tiny little ones named Coyote Pup.

Usually Coyotes don't attack until you attack them. They appear hostile on your compass and growl when you get near but they've never attacked me unprovoked. Geckos, on the other hand.... :P I wish we could make clothes out of the hides we find. I could make a fur coat out of Coyote Pups.

Nah, I normally don;t feel bad. The one time I did feel bad was when I killed a den mother and her little pup was left alone. It just growled at me but never attacked. I felt bad, then I killed it.

Oh well.

LMFAO, oh that is good. How old was he when he started? My son started playing Morrowind when he was 3. Saved over a 250 hour game, but the look on his face that he was playing "Daddy's game" was just priceless. Was so proud of him that he turned TV on, switched it, so he can play on the xbox and then actually load the thing was priceless.

hmmmm... any time something is running at me, with a nasty gleam in its eye, I shoot first. Their cuteness factor is kind of lost in the flurry of "oh crap more things attacking me :ahhh: " factor

this is one reason why i like silencers. but i do lots of sneaking around to find good shooting spots.
imho riot shotgun is epic for close range "omg they're coming out of the trees!" moments.

I lost that inhibition back in FO2 where they tend to torch you something fierce. :flame:

Cute?
Nu-uh.
Those bastards weren't even a little cute in FO2 as they clawed my ass open and sure as hell aren't going to change.
I remember you vicious bastards.
They might try to look cute but I remember the vicious beasts that they truly are.

I used a Super Sledge on a young Gecko which was funny as hell.
The entire body just splattered into a million little pieces.
