Daedra Prince aligned with undead? Ice Daedra?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 1:43 am

Are any of the Princes specifically aligned with the undead or known to use the undead?

Where (what realm) are Ice Daedra from?

None seem to be "aligned" with undead... I mean, they are re-animated corpses, not Lesser Daedra. And how could there be undead Daedra? You only get un-dead when something died, and only mortals can die... and mortals are on Nirn/the Mundus, not in Oblivion.

That said, the only Powerful Being tied to undead is Mannimarco.

As for Ice Daedra... http://www.imperial-library.info/tsobs/part04.shtml concerns the Frost and Fire Daedra. I don't know where they call "home." Are there "unclaimed" daedric realms for these being to inhabit? Or must they always live in a Daedric Prince's personal plane of Oblivion?

No and unknown.

http://www.imperial-library.info/book_daedra/might help in general and http://www.imperial-library.info/fsg/mortazoarticle01.shtml has some interesting ideas on the origins of Daedra in general.

Damn, getting slow here.

Undead are distinct from daedra. And the only divinity associated with them is the Revenant Moon.....who's probably an aedra.

As for ice daedra....umm.....Molag Bal?

Technically, yes. Considering that Mannimarco did contribute to the creation of Nirn (or rather a re-shaping of its structure). However, I'd have to say no.

I'd still say no to Mannimarco. The only thing the god has done is block Arkay, so Arkay's laws won't be in effect. He'd almost be in the same line as Talos, for both are not aedra, but not daedric at the same time

Aren't vampires, which are considered undead, related to one of the Daedra's [censored] of a mortal?

Molag Bal, I believe.

Although it hasn't really been definitively said that they're actually undead.

Free agents, Daedra in their own right of lesser power to the princes in which the amjority do not happen to align with one single Prince.

Aren't atonarchs representative of a certain element, rather than being tied to a certain plane?

I think undead are a type of "creature" that can be native to the different realms, as there are Shambles and Flesh Atronarchs, and maybe Hungers? in the various realms.

Atronarchs are golems, and hungerers are daedra that owe their allegiance towards Boethia. The Shambles are the only thing that is undead in the shivering ilse

The undead (and the Flesh Atronachs probably) are all creations and experiments done by Relmyna. They have no Daedric origin (aside from the Flesh Atronachs having a Daedra's soul in it).

In Daggerfall fire/ice/storm atronarches were man-made golems, in Morrowind the term "atronarch" began to refer to what were once called fire/ice/storm daedra. I have no idea why they did this, but they did.

Yes. Except they went from being two distinctly seperate creatures to just one.

I'm learning more towards association with Molag Bal. He/she is all about corruption and I think the undead would qualify as corruption of the flesh.

Which was done for the sake of simplicity and killing redundancy.

I can also say that they share an association to Namira, Vaernima, Dagon, Sheogorath, and Malacath. They don't ease into the providence of any single Daedra.

Sheogorath seems to have no problem with the undead too, as evident with all the shambles running around. Vaernima would also be a good candidate for being fond of undead, for they can be quite nightmarish. Everyone else either probably doesn't really like them or are indifferent. The daedra I'd say that loathes undead are Meridia, Namira (it ain't natural and is reflected on that with her ring in DF), and probably Peryite (likes to keep things in order)

As for your idea that undead are corruption of the flesh, I would disagree, since it's natural for things to rot. Instead, being undead would be a middle finger to Arkay, which Molag Bal did in the form of vampires and Mannimarco with his constant anti-Arkay propaganda. The dunmer see the "religious" undead to be holy, for they guard the many tombs and treasures of the dunmer (and in a bunch of cases, are more useful in death than in life).

Does anyone else have a feeling that one day Arkay is gonna snap and shoot up Oblivion for all the crap they give him? And on the topic of atronachs, since Bethesda wants the elemental atronachs and daedra to be the same now, I assume that they are free agents existing in several planes of Oblivion doing whatever. After all, lesser daedra that are mages need to summon something right?
