Daedra Worshippers

Post » Fri Mar 12, 2010 8:57 am

I don't know a whole lot about the subject of Daedra and their worshippers, but I do have a question that pertains to a mod I'm creating and I want it to be lore-friendly.

So... suppose I have a powerful group of combatants - a budding army, if you will, that seeks to wipe Tamriel out of Vvardenfell. Whether or not they're powerful enough to actually do so isn't really a concern here, but imagine this situation and tell me how it might play out.

I arrive with a powerful group of warriors at a Daedric Shrine/Ruin and intend to keep the place as a temporary HQ. The worshippers inside would not only be completely outmatched by my warriors, but the invaders actually support the cause of attacking Tamriel. Daedra worship would not be tampered with. If I asked the worshippers to join the cause, how do you think this would turn out?

Would Daedric worshippers have the reasoning to join the cause...
Simply ignore us..
Or attack us knowing surely that it'd be a futile effort resulting in an untimely death?

like Alaisiagae said it depends on the Daedric prince they worship and even if they helped with your cause it wouldnt be wise to trust them because they may be taking seperate orders from their Prince for example Mephala could be tricking you into your own death or say for example Boethiah may help since is sphere his/her deciet, overthrowing law and treason

They probably wouldn't help you. Daedric Princes need a sandbox too, you know. Oh, and then the army would be cursed.

Depends on just about everything, who is doing the talking? Who are listening? What are their current and future interests? How aware are they that saying no isn't an option?

Who the Prince is they worship, I don't think that starts to play a role until it gets past the "how do I make sure I'm going to actually gain something from this all" and "unknown change is bad" parts.

I think the worship is for action.I have heard several refrences to "at least the Daedra do things, bad things mostly."(Anyway similar to that.)So it could be that they see them;so it is real. The rewards are real,etc...Plus there is most likely some worship that has been passed down. From grandparents and parents;as this was a common worship for the ancients.
