Daedric CROSSBOWS!

Post » Sat Apr 16, 2011 5:44 am

I love crossbows! the dwemer crossbow was the most used marksman weapon I used in Morrowind by far. But I always had this dream of finding an daedric one, never did :( could they be in Skyrim?

Yeah kinda svcked we only could find orcish bolts -___- but we had the daedric bow though, so a crossbow type should not be impossible

I may not agree with Morrowind fans on, just about anything, but we need different weapons back, if they do it like Fallout 3, where each weapon could have a different animation I would be good

They were cut for Oblivion.

What makes you think that it's going to be in game?

Bethesda got a loot of angry respond when they took out spear and crossbows. And todd mention them in the latest interview, he does not say them wont be in, he said something like, fans said they wanted crossbows back and spears back, but he later said that the team does their own thing trying to cut down on skills but make them much more interesting or something. However i think they will be in :) can't stop me from dreaming

Yeah, they aren't a fan of mechanization.
Sure Oblivion had elevators, but they could have been magical not mechanical. The Dwemer were the only ones that dealt with mechanization. That might be why they took crossbows out of Oblivion. I wouldn't mind seeing Dwemer crossbows, but Deadric? I just can't see it...

I think They say in the GI that bows will dominate the range combat again, or something like that. Maybe it didn't mean that there will be only bows and if did they could change theyre minds yet, but...

well, at the very least they could let us mod crossbows in!

we should have a dwemer repeating crossbow in game- from that one weapon moders could make guns, crossbows, rocket launchers, automatic guns etc

It almost seems to me that the only crossbow in the game should be the Dwemmer crossbow, as it is more in line with their technology and they can be readily seen on Dwemmer Spheres. The only other type of crossbow that should exist would be a Dark Brotherhood variant. The idea of a crossbow for every weapon/cultural type seems a bit out there, even if a Daedric Crossbow would look amazing.

I dont think they are in. The GI article kinda implied that and while I would love to see many different types of ranged weapons, I doubt it.

I'd sorta prefer the bows and crossbows to be made out of reasonable materials. All bows should be made of wood, though there could be different types of wood and different pull weights on them. Crossbows should be made of wood and steel because those denser metals should be harder to create fine mechanical components with.

Don't get me wrong, the most weapon variety the better!

But they mentioned bows would be more powerful but take more time to recharge. So why would they include a crossbow that will be more powerful than the bow, AND take even more time to load?

bow= load, aim, draw, shoot

crossbow- aim, shoot, load

massive game play difference there

What about the Daedric siege engine? It's mechanical.

Well a crossbow will then nearly onehit kill anything it aims on while in sneak mode, but if you miss your in trouble beacuse loadtime, its a difficult weapon, but deadly in the right hands. Crossbows are ancient weapons in the real world, recordings from ancient greece tells about them in the year 399 BC. Sad that Bethesda don't like them, they are truly amazing...

Yeah true.

And I guess I've been getting us off topic haha :P

I think it would fit in as the daedra in Oblivion had several mechanical systems, like locking and lifting gates and such. Could also be powered by some kind of Sigil Energy.

If it is included that is.

but note how the dremora use big gears and stuff?- they never use tiny cogs and mechanical parts.

but finding a daedric crossbow would be cool, it would have to be one of the rarest weapons in game, but it would be cool.

i realy dont care if they are added or not
