Daedric font replacer

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 9:41 am

It bugs the hell out of me that the default Daedric font is missing two letters. I've tried using MakeMWFont to convert Dongle's Oblivion Script into a replacer, but it just made scrolls show up blank in-game. I suspect I've simply done something wrong in the conversion but I can't figure out how to do it right for the life of me. Is there a replacement Daedric font that is a) still Daedric letters and b ) working?

Do you mean Xayah and Yahkem? (X and Y)
They do exist in Morrowind, but Todd Howard has said that officially there is no X or Y in the Daedric alphabet... there were a few appearances in Morrowind by accident.
Which likely explains why they do not appear sometimes when it seems like they should.

As to the technical question... sorry, I don't know.

Is there a way to peak in to the Morrowind fonts out side of MW? Or if you make one you have to replace it in the INI and test it in game

I had better luck making fonts with ObFontGen. I'll try and see what I can come up with.

Ok, here you go http://www.mediafire.com/?n12oysx7kk8j20o

Drop contents into Data Files/Fonts, change Font 2 in the ini to Oblivion_Script_20, and see how it looks in game for you. Let me know if you want it smaller or anything.

Your screenshot makes it look like it's probably a good size. Thanks!

Kalian, scroll up to Tygirwulf's first post - he has a screencap there labeled "Daedric script test."
