Daedric Weapons and Armour

Post » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:55 am

Anything after orcish and mithril was a bit much for me, ebony wasnt too bad except for the fugly helmet but elven, glass and daedric was just too.... bleh.
I like simple armor, it can be ornate just not too out there.

this

I'd rather have my armour be ornate rather than some crazy exotic design. The difference? Say there's regular steel armour, ornate steel armour would have gold edging, detailed filigrees or etched patterns, scrolling, embossed emblems, etc etc.

I'd also like different variations of the same type of armour. eg. in Morrowing you had leather and netch leather and boiled leather, you had bonemold but with differnt shoulder guards and shields for the different great houses and also different helms.

the rare armours should also be very rare, so daedric maybe have 1 full suit in the game, with bits scattered around so saw, 1 cuirass, 3 sets of boots, 2 pairs of shoulders, 1 helm, 3 greaves, 4 gauntlets or something. Maybe even make it so rare that some parts need a quest to obtain it. Afterall daedric armour is forged by binding a daedra spirit to it is it not? (my lore is a bit sketchy). Others like glass and ebony should also be scattered around with maybe 1 person in the world wearing an almost complete suit (like Divath Fyr and his daedric set), with the estruction of MW, i'd expect glass and ebony to by much rarer 200 years later.

there can also be named variants of the rarer armours too, like the different daedric masks in MW etc etc

There will most likely be daedric weapons and armor. If you noticed in the trailer one scene showed a daedric sword equipped. And yes, i really hope the high end weapons and armor are RARE! I hated that bandits and marauders after level 25ish had them so frequently... That ruined Oblivion for me. Otherwise, i loved the game. Cmon Todd!!! Make it right!!! Haha

The Elder Scrolls without Daedric weapons and armor would be like Star Wars without lightsabers

That's pushing it. I don't think anyone* plays Elder Scrolls and walks away thinking "Wow, that was awesome, I want some real-life Daedric armor!"

*Meaning "Anyone who doesn't also know the origin of the Altmer" that is

I reckon they should make an unenchanted Crusader Relics (from OB KOTN) armor for the high level. And a return of slightly less weird-spiney looking Daedric armor.

I'm not counting on there being any daedra around to steal it from, though you can probably still conjure some up. If it doesn't return, I'm sure they'll have dragon armor to replace it.

Why wouldn't there be Daedra around?

I think that Daedric items should return in Skyrim, but they should be more like they were in Morrowind. I'm not talking about appearance, but Daedric items should be something that not everyone has access to. The armour should be one of the most powerful and hardest to find armours in the game. Only the oldest and/or most powerful people should have it, and you would only be able to find it deep in the largest and most dangerous dungeons in the land.

I agree to an extent, though I think it was totally justified that it was so common in Oblivion, given that gates to Oblivion were opening everywhere and Daedric gear would have been more easily obtained. But I don't want it to be like Morrowind where there's only like 2 sets in the entire game. I'd much rather have like 5 or so sets.

I like the idea of having limited sets, making it even more rare and valuable(lets hope there isn't another duplication glitch in this one lol).

I think if you look in the deepest depths of dungeons, or at the bottom of the ocean floors. you should find something.
