Dagerfall and Arena question

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series. My first experience was with Morrowind on the Xbox. I also really enjoyed Oblivion. Now I want to try the earlier games in the series. My major concern is how Arena and Daggerfall keep track of your quests.

One thing that really annoyed me about Morrowind was the fact that the journal was a huge mess. With so many side quests to keep track of, it was a pain to have to scroll through an unorganized journal to find out exactly what to do for a specific quest. I had to stop playing the game because of this. I understand the GOTY PC version fixed this and plan on playing the PC version of Morrowind.

Now what I would like to know is, do Arena and Daggerfall have the same issues with keeping track of quests?

This probably more rightly belongs in the past games section, but to answer your question, yes, Daggerfall and Arena have a similar system to Morrowind, where quests are only sorted by the dates you got them. However, all of the quests have time limits, and once that limit expires or the quest is completed, the quests are deleted from your journal. Unless you take on a truly ridiculous number of quests at once, it stays pretty manageable.

And if you do take on a ridiculous number of quests, you will fail most of them.

I had problems with bugs concerning quest journal in Daggerfall, but then, you have problems with bugs concerning anything in Daggerfall. However, it's worth it.
