I downloaded it from Beth. along with the Box or whatever it is required to play.Can't get it to work, all I get is a can't execute message.Ihave Vista by the way

There have been known issues with trying to download Daggerfall directly from Bethesda's site. Try downloading it from Fileshack instead.

Make sure to delete your Daggerfall folder from your download from Bethesda first (As in, delete your Dagger and DFCD folders) or you will still have problems with it. Then use UESP's guide.
