Daggerall: Daedroth Quest at Level 2?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:49 pm

Hey guys-

So, I started my first ever playthrough of Daggerfall today and was getting pretty into it. I have gotten out of the Privateer's Hold and traveled to Daggerfall. Upon arrival and after doing a couple of things I decided to join The Knights of the Dragon. Free stays at the inn! So, I ask to join and expect to be given one of the 'non-member' quests. Instead, I'm allowed to join and am then told that I need to go kill a Daedroth in a Palace. AT LEVEL 2!

I quickly went to the UESP to look the quest up and found that it isn't even listed among one of the ones that Knight orders give. So...is this some freak occurence? There is no way I can beat that Daedroth, much less afford the mithril+ weapon to attack him. Should I just start again/go from an earlier save?

Just say no when you're asked to do an "impossible" quest. There are no consequences for refusing quests. (Except possibly the MQ quests).

(And that's one of the reasons for saving just before asking for a quest).

You can simply not do the quest by skipping time until the deadline has passed. You'll suffer a very small reputation hit with the Knights, but doing another quest will get it back easily.
And there's no penalty for refusing a quest, like jeabo has mentioned. :)

As expected, the God's of Daggerfall didn't try to smite me when the time limit ran out. However, I did run across another Daedroth in a dungeon I was crawling....which did promptly destroy me.

Thanks guys.
