I already likely know the answer to this, but are there any other patches for this game outside of 2.13 that might catch any other errant bugs? One of my save games isn't loading, and when I do manage to get a game running, it drops to DOS at random times (also usually when I'm trying to save).
I was going to leave it there, but I've gotta say... the experience of playing Daggerfall is exactly like I remember it. Amazingly deep. Way ahead of its time. A world that I am completely immersed in and can just literally wander through for days, just for the enjoyment of it, with no regard whatsoever for the main quest. And bugs that are so persistent, and happen at such crucial times, that they ruin the dream and knock the game back down to 'above average'. I want to throw my computer against the wall right now.
Am I the only person in these forums that has cursed the nimrod who made the decision to release what would have been the best RPG of all time 3-6 months too early? Argh!!!! :brokencomputer:
If someone fixed the bugs and made it workable without using DOSBox, I'd pay $50 for it even now, 13 years or so after its release. Later Bethesda games were great, but there has never been another game like Daggerfall (cept maybe Arena, which was also out of this world).
Anyway, enough ranting... other than installing 2.13, is there anything else out there? Thanks.
