Actually DOSBox is fairly system intensive, or at least emulating a DOS environment is much more demanding than simply using DOS. The original system specs don't apply, but anything from this century should be able to run them fine. Processor is the most important thing, but if it's at least 2GHz single core I think you're good. :)

What you fail to take into account, StoneFrog, is that he is a simleton.

I dunno. I bet if I tried it on my mom's olde Compaq lappy from 2000 it would run like a slideshow -- and the lack of an active-matrix LCD would blur it into a horrid mess. So, if his Dell laptop is that olde and that cheap he's kind of screwed.

The good news is it's playable on my Compaq lappy from 2002. PIII 1066 MHz, 256 MB RAM, 16 MB Mobility Radeon, etc. And the icing on the cake is the load times on that computer aren't even as bad as they were for Morrowind! (I can't believe I played Morrowind on that thing!)

Either way, it's always worth a try. TES games are awesome.
