DAGGERFALL: Best Mage Class?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:12 pm

I'm playing through Daggerfall as a Wood Elf thief. It's quite fun, but I intend to do a mage character next.

I don't want to do a Spellsword (or Battlemage for that matter) as I already have one of those in progress in TES: Arena. What is the best mage class that generally is solely focused on magic and not a hybrid with melee weapons?

Or am I better off going Spellsword/Battlemage but generally ignoring the weapon factor?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm new! :D

You could go with a modified http://www.izhtex.com/tes2/classes/magestat.htm class. Just replace the language skills with something useful and go for the maximum 3X spell points.

Welcome! :cake:

I'm guessing you'll be relying a lot on charms and sleeping.

Ouch...I wouldn't want that. Is the Spellsword/Battlemage with less emphasis on combat more viable?
