Okay, I've been off these forums and away from the TES community for a while now, I just learned that Daggerfall is available for download on elderscrolls.com. How? Did they find the source code? When I was on here a few weeks back, it was pretty much widley accepted that Daggerfall would never be a free download. But everything can change in a day, eh? What I would like to know is how is this possible. Did they, by a miracle, find the source code? Thanks in advance. Also, I can't believe Bethesda bought Id Software, my mind has pretty much been blown today. :mellow:

It was a rumor that they lost the source code, one they never denide nor agreed with. Anyway, you dont need the source code to re-release the game, only the game files.

But yeah, this was totally out of the blue.

They always had the executable code to Daggerfall, which is all they needed to release the game. They cannot support it without the source code, but they don't intend to anyway.
