[RELz] Daggerfall Memories: The Liberation of Cybiades Versi

Post » Thu Mar 11, 2010 2:21 pm

I've installed this and am level 6. the man invited me to to travel to the island (doubt that counts as a spoiler since it says the game's based on another island!) but I don't want to go yet in case I can't go back or am too low level?

I would wait at least until level 10, although the first part of the quest is easier than the second.

Still having trouble getting started.

I have all the files mentioned above in the Data folder. They were installed there by OOMG and it looks ok. (Both esp files are tiny KB files; is that right?) Both esp files are checked when I start. I was originally running the latest OOO 1.3 only as an additional mod but I also tried the game with OOO inactive. I also tried the mod with different saves and different cities.

My main tries were with going to Anvil and hanging around the front gate for 30hrs.

I may have to come back to this mod a bit later as it all seems a bit odd. I'm wondering if there is anything else that I might try or check.though?

thx

Emma

The mod has no known incompatibilities except for the ones addressed by the patches.
This is incredibly strange, please don't give up as I've always helped the ones who had problems.
The esp files should be about 100Kb and 300Kb, and then there is a bigger Cybiades.esm file.
One thing you can do is look for the boat "Dart of the Divines" which is docked near Anvil.

It should be here on the map if you're not using any compatibility patches:

http://www.deathless.it/images/provola255.jpg

The boat is there the moment you activate the mod. Let me know if it's there or not and I'll give instructions on what to do.

Yehh! got it to work

Not sure how though. It may have something to do with the old oblivion patch. I had re-installed the game without the patch and that's when things didn't happen. After installing the patch and then re-activating OOO Everything worked and the guy came to find me.

This is cool. It's great to see some new idea's and things to look at different from what you are used to. Only just started it though.

Thx for the help

can you leave the island at any point? (well, don't say if there's a big spoiler where you can't)
Thanks.

Oh well, unpatched Oblivion is just as reliable as a Commodore64 trying to run Crysis at 1920x1200 ;).
I'm happy you got it started!

You can leave it only at the end of quest 1 and at the end of quest 2, but not while you're doing quest 1 or quest 2.

I have a problem, Iskyron's refusing to go with me through the gate after the big Clannfear. I went all the way to the end, but just before the last gate, nothing spawns, and the gate won't open. Any ideas what to do?

I don't know, this never happened. Are you using version 2.0? Try to load from before the Clannfear gate or from before meeting Isykron.

The plugin says 2.1 I'll try that.

Thanks. It's an honor to receive praise from the creator of Pluggy, Universal Silent Voice, and No Fast Travel which was a life-saver for me.

About a third chapter, I don't know right now. I've been working on and off on a new Storms & Sound version. But I don't know if I'll find the time and resolve needed to work again on this in the short term. One year was a mighty long time... Although the plot is already laid out, and it would take place on a new island.

I can guess, It's not something I would have the patience to work on personally :embarrass:

Well if you make a new one, that will be great, else I hope you will make the next chapter for TES V ! :D

Well I'll be here for TES V, you can bet about that! I can't wait for Fallout to go on sale, so they can announce the next TES game!

I just finished reading through all 9 pages of this topic.

One thing I did not see and this is puzzling to me (maybe it was mentioned elsewhere)...

Cybiades.esp has Knights.esp as a master.

Was this intentional?

Well, this should be true only if you're using the KotN compatible version. I've just checked, and it's only with that version. Which is obvious, because if you don't have knights.esp and use that version you'll get a crash to desktop (it happens when one of your mods points to a master which isn't there).

It's been quite time since the last time I've played the mod. Since then, I've added quite a lot of other user-made quests to my Oblivion folder. As I want to start a new game with a new character, do I need to use the crashfix-esp from tesnexus? I do not remember having had crashes, but again, at that time, I did not use so many mods.

Are there any disadvantages when starting the quest using the crashfix-esp (talking about the fireball-fix, of course)?

The fireball fix is needed if you're playing the game with Hdr on (if I remember correctly, it's been a while). It doesn't have anything to do with other mods, so use it only if you're playing with Hdr.

Do any Cybiades gurus know why I can't get the second part of this quest-mod to begin?

Played the first part and enjoyed it. Short but sweet. However, when I return to the isle no one greets me at the docks (as specified in the provided ReadMe). Nor do the villages have anything new to offer.

I'm quite sure I totally finished part one. It cleared itself from my active journal. The last (or one of the last) journal entry starts out stating "So it ends..." (or something very similar). I was asked to talk with the villagers before departing. I'm pretty sure I did so, though there's always a chance I might have missed someone. In any case this did not seem mandatory. I hung around a bit after that, but found nothing new to do so departed.

(Oh yeah... when I return to Cybiades my promised new home (tower) is in place.)

Do I perchance need some special item in my inventory? The readme mentions not leaving the isle (for the first time) until getting the initial quest reward. I no longer recall what I did or didn't receive at the time. Since my journal cleared I simply assumed all was well. I can't recall storing any Cybiades acquired items before my return visit, but it is always a possibility.

(After my first futile return attempt I spent several real-life days completing the "Lost Sword" mod. I then made a second return to Cybiades...still no luck.)

In any case, any pointers in getting the second part rolling would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

edit Nevermind. I just noticed you said you did leave and go back again.

If I remember correctly, you must complete the first part and talk to all the NPCS before leaving (I think there are 10).
You go back, admire out your new home for a bit. Leave again.
Go back the 3rd time. You are supposed to be met at the dock.

Yes make sure to talk to everyone after completing the first chapter. Its easy to miss one or two since they are bunched up yet moving around a large area farming and doing other work. Kind of like walking on a crowded city block trying to talk to every passerby :D

Thanks for the fast responses!

Reckon I'll try going back and talk with all those villagers again just in case I missed someone the first time around. Then I'll leave and try yet another return. Wish me luck.

There should be a small tower in the corner, between two houses. Also, I talked to everyone at night when they were all sleeping. Better that way since all you have to do is visit three houses and talk to everyone sleeping.

Woot! Problem solved.

Turns out I had talked with all the villagers during my first stay. But... I found that the ship helmsman also had a story to tell. Speaking with him did the trick. I left the island, immediately returned, and found one of the villagers (Idilgast, if memory servers) awaiting me just off the pier.

Thanks all!
