[RELz] Daggerfall Memories: The Liberation of Cybiades Versi

Post » Thu Mar 11, 2010 7:05 am

I think this is a very good Mod, I am, however, at a loss on how to trigger the next "stage". I have read of a prize associated with the end of episode one, however, after helping the xxxxxxx and talking to all the xxxxxx you have helped free, it seems the only option is to leave in the ship, and saw no mention of a prize (other than the sense of helping the xxxxx). I went hunting for the Red XXXXXX to take the entire group "out" but I could not find it on the island - though its presence was alluded to. Just curious. Very good mod.

The Argonian npc alludes to the reward when you meet him. Anyway here are instructions for kickstarting the second episode:

1) Leave the island after talking to everybody (there is no other Red Lodge member on the island).

2) Go back to the island and you'll find the reward in the village.

3) Leave the island again.

4) When you get back to the island you'll find a npc waiting for you at the dock. This is indication of the second episode starting.

You have to go back to the mainland (Cyrodiil) then come back again to Cybiades and once there all you have to do is walk into town to find your reward. It will be pretty hard to miss :D That should start to get things going so another npc in town speaks to you for help on the second quest.

Thanks for the help, I hadn't seen your message.

And I'll never thank you enough for this:

Finally got my internet to work this time! A few things I am cutious about. What does the Darkling Sword do? What is it's power, except it being a KILLING machine? Is it a chance driven enchanment or what? The thing I forgot to mention is that I would also like Isykron's boigraphy. He mentioned it at the end of the first quest. Since I can't play Daggerfall, that would be a nice book describing the Mantella story (I know what it's about, I just don't know the important details, which make it real). The Red Lodge is excavating the mountain. They found Giant corpses, do they plan to resurrect them? ALso there is also one bug, in the gravel pit instead of bat shrieks, i hear wild static, I could also CTD in that area. Is the problem in my sound chip, or the mod? The respberry harvest would also be nice, or the ability to farm with the people. That's all Internet melting agaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin...........

The Sword kills people or creatures in one shot, but only once in a very long while, say about once every 1000 hits. So yes, chance driven.

Isykron's biography is the book I was thinking about when we talked about this earlier.
About the Red Lodge, I don't think they will be returning to the island. If I make a sequel, it will happen somewhere else. But I will probably add things to the island anyway.

About the bat shrieks, you're the first to report this problem and I surely don't have it, so it may be in your sound chip. Unless someone else has the same glitch... Guys?

Final question

Do people from the Red XXXXXX try to contact you while you are in Cyrodill? I would really like to wipe out the whole lot, like I did to the evil, sick citizens of Hackdirt.

I promise, no more questions after this. Thanks alot!!

Spoiler
i dont know which one i liked better the godzilla fight (i always have a hard time with clanfears and that headbutt attack). or the blood brothers.
i like close to impossible challenges especially when they make me swear just a little bit. :)

edit:
Spoiler
im getting a slideshow at the flaming wall after the goblins and the necrotizer in the dungeon. also im assuming i have to do something with those guys trapped in a poses do i shoot the symbol on the ceiling or something.

Not right now they don't, it may happen in the future, but I want those guys to somehow keep their distance. I don't think the player would ever be able to kill them all, they're from beyond after all... Ask all the questions you want!

Hehe, some messages ago someone was saying the fights are too easy, for you they're close to impossible... That goes to show how difficult it is to set the difficulty level of fights in a mod.

Spoiler
About the slideshow, there's little I can do because it is hardware related for sure. In most cases this room is perfectly fluid. The guys trapped in poses are actually just statues, you'll find many in this dungeon. The flaming wall should disappear after a little while with no problems, if you have the latest version (2.1).

Glad you're having fun!

i dont think the slideshow is hardware as you can see from my specs i have a high end pc. it only happens after a little while its fine when i first enter the room or if i restart the game and then it starts to get slower and slower. also i didnt get a slow down with all those fireworks at the one part of the first mission which i thought for sure was going to creak to a hault when i saw that stuff coming down. :)

as for the difficulty im using TIE which makes you take alot more damage than vanilla oblivion (a part of the mod i like alot). so being a sneaky sneaks character i have to be extra careful since im not running around in daedric armor.

No problems with sound here, they were eerily fantastic :D

Maybe not hardware, but mod lineup? I encountered no slideshow and I have a P4 3.2

Same here and I have a P4 2.4 with a gig of memory and a GeForce7800 GS. Resolution is set at 1024x and textures on medium with everything set to high with shadows turned off with only the cool Canopy shadows from under trees on.

There's bound to be some trouble with all the possible hardware and mod combinations. Sometimes I get amazed of Bethesda's plugin system, I'm incredulous that so many mods together almost never break games!

So the sequel is not going to be in Cybiades? Too bad. But you could create another island. The Isle of Balfiera, or the Isle of Artareum? What are your thoughts on the seqel? Did you decide where it will be? I figured sine the Red Lodge is a powerful group bent on ruling Tamriel, they could try to influence the domain of the Psijics or the "birthplace" of the gods (the Direnni tower of the Isle of Balfiera is the speculated birthplace of the gods. It is also called Adamantine Tower, spreading hundreds of meters in the sky, and being the oldest building in Tamriel. The legend is that the Marukhati danced on the tower, thus creating the Aedra) The choice is ofcourse yours. As for the Elder Scrolls V being a MMORPG, I have to strongly disagree. Bethesda has been making single player RPG's since 1994, and their multiplayer experiment Battlespire was not a big success. The next game in line, Redguard was the last adventure series elder scrolls game. Both did not have as nearly as much success, as Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, or Oblivion. If Elder Scrolls V would be an MMORPG, the epic part of the game would be lost. The core of the games would be changed. I do not think Bethesda is willing to take such a gamble. But you never know.

I haven't decided yet, but I think the sequel may be taking place on an uncharted island, in Nirn or on another plane.
I too believe TES V will be single player, but surely there will be an Elder Scrolls MMORPG down the line. Can somebody confirm Bethesda have registered a domain related to elder scrolls online?

P.S.: who said the Red Lodge is bent on ruling Tamriel? ;)

i hope there isnt a TES mmorpg. i played them all and the only one i was impressed with was neocron 2.3 which was a realtime futuristic shooter although they did have swords in the game. WoW is for 12 year olds, Lotr was an improvement on WoW but had the same stupid combat whackamole engine.

unfortunately i dont think TES 5 will fair will given the path that bethesda is choosing. they are making games for casual gamers that are way to easy and have limited options in game. so much was removed from oblivion compared to morrowind and while i cant play daggerfall ive heard that alot of the stuff in daggerfall was not seen in morrowind. i dont want to even think about how nerfed and kiddylike TES 5 will be.

my future hopes are on Fallout and the mods that spring from that game. the fallout crowd is even more fanatical than the elderscrolls crowd.

I would give TES online a try. Actually I like Oblivion better than Morrowind, there are some things that got dumbed down but it's fairly easy to make them better with a 2-minute mod and I like the overall feeling of the game better than Morrowind. I'd say there are lots of things to do, no less than in previous games, except for Daggerfall. It was the richest game ever made, but very not-user friendly. I hope TES 5 will be good, I still love Bethesda or I wouldn't even mod their games.

Is Dionillo Minerus supposed to find you in the Tutorial Dungeon? That's where he found me.

Right at the spot where Glenroy says he doesn't like this was where he was waiting. Funniest part: He took part in the great battle (where Glenroy dies) and barely took a scratch, and when I opened the gate (and the door), he proceeded to clear out the rest of the dungeon.....

Hehe, great. He will find you mostly anywhere, but in the readme I suggest not to activate the mod before exiting the starting dungeon, sometimes he gets stuck there. But it looks like it ended well for you.

Yes thats where he usually finds me and he has yet to get trapped there. In my current game he just found my level 16 character in the Belda dungeon after taking on a mage master or something like that I think from Martigen's Monster Mod. He was bleeding all over when he talked to me which was cool seeing the blood effects from MMM on him. Thank goodness he seems to be set to essential since I got the message Dionillo Minerus is unconscious a few times as I was trying to find him and help him fight. He didnt need the help though as we bumped into each other making a turn. Afterwards I saw the very dead corpse of our foe out for the count on the stone cold floor :toughninja:

Oh and he found me at level 16 because I just reinstalled this mesmerizing mod now that am almost at level 20.

Finaly, I finished it. Heres what I think(-/+):

The mod is great, big, original and I had so much funn doing the quests and exploring the isle.
The new creatures look fantastic
(bats, drake lizard, werewolfs.)
. The new items
also look fantastic(my favourites=
dark flame sword,shield
). and of course
the new paintings(love'em :D).

I found some small bugs.
- an orc(I think), in the village who has that "no greeting" problem.
-
also noticed that werewolfs get stuck in the labyrinth walls sometimes and killing them is no problem at all, as they can't fight back

-
also, before you enter the labyrinth gate, but in the same "room" there is an npc named "mstrej of the speechless", who has a weapon in his inventory called "missing name". It's invizible and it's a blunt weapon.

NOTE: I have the latest version and installed the mod properly.

All I can say is that I love it. So keep up the good work.

As you know, some items and creatures are resources edited by me. The werewolves for instance I only partly retextured. The Dark Flame Sword was remodeled and totally retextured by me, the original author is in the readme. Actually I modified it so much it's practically a new weapon.

About the glitches you found:

-the orc with no greeting was never reported and it's never happened to me in particular, so it must be a one-time bug related to the wonders of Oblivion's engine or a conflict of some sort which can happen when you have two or more mods which edit the "greeting" topic. Check these out:
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/I_Do_Not_Have_A_Greeting_Text
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Fixing_the_AddTopic_Bug
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Unclean_Dialogue

Did he have no greeting since the first time you met him, or did it happen later?

-werewolves sometimes getting stuck is quite unavoidable. The pathgrid doesn't cross the walls, but if a wolf gets near a wall a grid point from beyond the wall may become closer to him than the one on his side of the wall. In such case he will try to reach the other point, having no "sense of collision" he doesn't detect obstacles (how wonderful that would be). The walls would need to be enormously thick to avoid this, because it is near impossible otherwise.

-I've managed to reproduce the null weapon glitch. The guys you're talking about have a "virtual" weapon each, whose purpose is to add an enchantment and implement that "jump back after being hit" effect you can see while they fight each other or you. When you kill them they lose the weapon (since it is equipped) and it substantially disappears. What I think happened is, you killed one of them from the distance, like with a spell, the other one unequipped the weapon because you were too far and you killed him too from the distance. So when you looked into his inventory the noname weapon was there.
I fixed this, it took 2 minutes, I will include the fix in the next release. It's quite an unlikely bug but thanks for the heads up and for the kind words!

Yes. Not much of problem but I just wanted to let you know. :)

That's not a big problem, only 1-2 of them actualy got svck in the wall.
