[RELz] Daggerfall Memories: The Liberation of Cybiades Versi

Post » Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:32 am

After releasing the new episode of my Daggerfall Memories saga, some bugs have emerged. Nothing big or gamebreaking, and probably most of this mod's users have not experienced them, but they should be all fixed now anyway.

If you already have version 2.0, you just need the update patch (very small) and, if you used them before, the new compatibility patches, adapted to the new version.

Here's what I fixed:
  • Redskin Goblins appearing when you pay a fine or go to jail (don't ask)
  • the fire wall not disappearing
  • Mordax's reference getting reenabled after upgrading from a finished version 1.1 to 2.0
  • a double space in a dialogue line
  • missing collision on a sewer grate
  • imprecise collision on a rock
As you can see, nothing so serious or substantial: if other bugs should emerge, I'll fix them too.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here are the old threads:

DA,

I have been able to download the 2.0 to 2.1 update, but whenever I attempt to download the compatibility zip file I get a FilePlanet "Error in your request..."

I have tried to download this on different computers and different browsers but I always get that error.

Regards,
Chris

These should solve the problems a few users had. Check out the credits lilith!

Great!

Finally, after tribulations aches and pains, I've managed to upload to TESNexus, which has big java problems these days since the server got updated. Surely they will be solved in a breeze.

Anyway, check the first post for the link.
You'll find not only the update patch, but full 2.1 archives for new users of the mod or users who were still at version 1.x.

I just got a 4 rating on TESNexus by a guy who clearly isn't even aware of the second episode and the dungeon... He's also posted a very detailed review full of inconsistencies and absurdity. Like the mod lacks detail and such... I ALWAYS stated I wanted the island to look different from vanilla, and the result is just what I had in mind. I hope I can get this rating removed, but the review itself was the most enraging flaming review I ever got. Damn I spent a year on this, if you don't like it at least respect my work I say.

Sorry guys for the outburst.

Your outburst is perfectly understandable! Contact the moderators, they are very good at removing unjustifiable ratings/comments and that certainly sounds like it fits the bill.

I, myself can not wait to play this again with many characters. It shall have a permanent place in my mod line-up. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort. Most of all, thank you for releasing this beauty to the public!

Thankfully, Buddah has gotten rid of that rating already. This has been one interesting Mod. Has there been any ideas for a third installment?

Yes, Buddah is my hero. I'm happy it got removed, but it was the gratuitous bashing which got me enraged the most.

About a third installment, I have many ideas but right now I'm not modding, I'm quite burned out. The problem is, each episode took about 5-6 months to complete, and put a dent on my social life too. I'm not sure I'll do a third episode. But the ideas right now are (I'll use spoilers in case any of this ever got done):

Spoiler
1) You go to sleep, have a dream and on wake up you find yourself on a completely different island, with a more tropical tone. Alone. Gradually you start to meet strange, not so friendly people. And you discover there are ties to the Red Lodge. Kind of an homage to Lost.

2) A castle appears in the sky, like the painting in the dungeon's church. I'm not sure where, Cybiades or Cyrodiil. Things happen inside the castle which reveal it's another test by the Red Lodge.

3) This is the most ambitious idea, one which comes and goes (it would be a maddening amount of work), and involves recreating the island of Betony. I would need to create a small team to do this, ideally a team of modders with documented experience in different fields, and it would be a totally different, stand-alone mod from this one. But I would surely make a big tie-in quest happen on this island if this project ever came to fruition.

I had other ideas, but right now I forget.

Okay I have finished the first quest although I think
that the mage did most of the work :(
I have talked to all of the villagers to find their stories.
Then I walked to the ship and left.
Is there supposed to be a reward?
If so from whom?

I may have missed someone in the dark is why
I am asking.
