The exit to Privateer's hold, and any dungeon looks like an arched window with a skull in it. I passed by that room so many times.

Once you enter the main hallway in Privateer's Hold, do NOT go through the first door on the left. You will be burned and died.

When I go to open the Daggerfall zip file I got from the elderscrolls website, a WinZip message pops up saying "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again." I have downloaded the file three or four times with the same result. I have also followed the given instructions step by step. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Too many people are trying to download the file at once. I guess there's a file server problem and some users are being booted.

So this is happening to other people? I'm not the only one?

I think the ability to kill innocents (and potentially get rewarded for it) would be taken more seriously than the graphical gore.

I implore all moderators to patrol this subforum like Nazis for the next week or so. The amount of help threads is going to be horrific.

How do I join the Dark Brotherhood? Did you see the babes in the temple of Dibella? Help I'm lost in a dungeon! The speech skills are totally nerfed! Who can assist me as I try and totally min/max the character creation system? I went to Daggerfall, where's Berenziah? I need help getting into city after dark! Where are the birthsigns? I first read this on the Escapist. I thought the guy was simply pulling a prank so I checked the date to see if it wasn't April's Fools and then came here. And it turns out to be true :blink:. Very nice. I expect quite an increase in interest for the DaggerXL project, too. I'm also very glad I didn't pay ?80,- for my copy (Mine cost only ?9,-) only to have it released for free now.

I cannot download it. It keep canceling it every 10% or so. I have to start all over again and pray it finishes! I am going to try the mirror.

Ok I think I screwed up somewhere. for one thing I forgot to patch before starting then when I do patch it gives me this:

CRITICAL ERROR: Please delete your Daggerfall directory and reinstall.

Huh. Just yesterday I was looking on ebay and Amazon at copies of Daggerfall. 'Lo and behold, they re-release it for free download today. ^_^ What luck!

Boy, for once I'm glad I had no money left after paying bills LOL. I just may have spent the money for a hard copy...the day before a free release. Would have svcked hard.

I about nearly had a heart attack when I saw this!!! Oh god I'm gonna be up all night and all day playing, but whats with the transfer rate? It's no more than 20kb a second?! Heh, well obviously everyone is downloading this so it's kinda hard to shill out the speed! Understandable... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! NOW I DON'T GOTTA PAY 80 DOLLARS JUST TO GET THE DISC!
