I never thought this day would come. It's beautiful. Thank you, guys.

Of course, I've still got my CDs, but now I'm spared the hassle of finding them.

Now, if only I can reconstruct my old Windows 98 PC. Truly that is the best system to play Daggerfall on.

It's no more than 20kb a second?!

Use the mirror posted on the previous page or so. My friend downloaded it at a steady 300kb/s from there.

Fileshack mirror works. And the instructions are perfect, only exactly at the end I exited and restarted dosbox because it said something about "not using the original CD, please insert correct CD".

Game works.

This is probably not possible, as you'd have added it otherwise, but me and Sheikah aren't relishing the prospect of typing in the console every time we want to play. Is there an easier way to launch it?

I can't quite explain the feelings I have right now. I've wanted to play this game since I first heard of it 5 years ago when I joined the forums but I didn't want to buy it off amazon. I'm so excited to finally have the chance to play it. I will start downloading soon. Thankyou Bethesda!!!! :D

Yeah I found the fileshack mirror, got it very quickly! And wow it's basically just the files on the CD, meaning I can probably just burn it to a disc and autorun it.

Open up your dosbox.conf file and scroll down to the very bottom. There should be a header titled "[autoexec]".

You can add lines of DOS commands under that section and they will automatically be executed when you start DOSBox. For instance, here's mine:

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.

mount C C:\DOSBox-0.73\games\ -freesize 800
C:

Yes there is, instead of typing all the commands navigate to "C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Local Settings\Application Data\DOSBox" (you may have to reveal hidden folders in Tools -> Folder Options) and add the command under the autoexec area at the bottom.

So, basically I should just paste the bolded bits there?

21) Each time you want to run Daggerfall, you will need to start DOS-Box and enter these commands:
?mount c c:\dosgames -freesize 1000
?mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall
?c:
? cd\dagger
? dagger

Wow, this is great news to anyone who hasn't paid 60 dollars for it within the past 2 months. But to all those who said it couldn't happen, and I believed them, it reassures me of the type of company that Bethesda is, one that pleases the fans and supports the great games they have made.

Attention:

Save your game the instant you are done with character creation!

That way if when you die in the first dungeon, you won't have to start all over.

Thank you.

Ok, I don't understand the install instrustions either. I downloaded DF fine but now what? I read the entire install instrustions but there is no folder named dosgames in program files/DOSBOX. I tried typing the lines in DOSBOX but it just said "illegal command"

Making a new folder never hurt anybody.
