Does anyone know of a resource that details the effects of each spell available from NPCs? Specifically, I'm currently looking to compare the effects of Balyna's Balm and Heal. I only know that Heal has a greater gold cost and that it perhaps restores more health.

Ah, according to the Imperial Library, Balyna's Balm doesn't restore health points at all, but remedies low-level ailments. (The in-game description suggests otherwise.)

I like that the effectiveness of spells varies with the level of the caster, not just magicka cost with the caster's skill in the appropriate school.

Edit: This thread could've been avoided if I'd realised that it's possible to view the precise effects of spells by clicking in-game on spells' general effects at the right side of the spellbook. :slap:
