Daggerfall Tools For Unity

Post » Sat Aug 16, 2014 7:16 pm

Hi everyone, I hope you've all been keeping well.

I wanted to let you know of a small side-project I've started, porting my Daggerfall Connect library (with parts from my other tools Daggerfall Imaging and Modelling) into editor scripts for Unity3D. The goal of this will be to allow anyone to directly import game-ready Daggerfall models, cities, and dungeons into Unity to play with. I think this will be more useful to everyone than my tools are in their current form and might even result in fun spin-offs.

This does not mean I'll be returning to the Workshop full time. I'm just allocating a few months spare time to refactor my existing code and write editor windows to hold everything together. Like all my tools, this project will be totally open source from the start. I'm hoping the community will build on my work and pick up wherever I leave off.

I'll post details for source repository and early access download within a few days. There won't be much to begin with, but things will expand quickly as I port over more of my code.

You can follow the development of Daggerfall Unity at http://www.dfworkshop.net.
