Daggerfall won't launch because I have the wrong CD?

Post » Sat May 09, 2015 12:25 am

As the title says, I am unable to launch Daggerfall because DOSbox says I have the wrong CD. I have no CD, I've never needed a CD. I have the digital version of Daggerfall downloaded from the official Bethesda site and it was working fine two hours ago. I really don't know what to do here, I even tried re-installing the game with no success, so any suggestions how to fix this would be much appreciated.

When you mount the virtual CD in DOSBox, be sure to use the "-label Daggerfall" switch. It must be Daggerfall, not daggerfall or DAGGERFALL or whatever.

Have done. This is what I typed (I have Daggerfall installed to c:\games\dfinstall)

This is what I type every time, and for the past few months it's been working perfectly.

If the typo is consistent, it may be the problem.

Huh. I guess that was it. I've had to type that stuff so much that I guess I stopped looking at what I was typing and was doing it all by feel, so I didn't catch that typo. How I managed to get that wrong half a dozen times in a row, I'm not sure, but whatever. Thanks.
