Dagoth Ur , his mindset, intentions

Well of course you don't silly, no archenemy worth his goatee is gonna come back right after he's been defeated - gotta have time to scheme, devise plans, and find a fluffy white cat to stroke (and you know that last one is gonna take a while in Tamriel).

Alas, Ur doesn't believe in gloves. Or pants. Or tops. Or shoes. Loin cloths and crazy masks will need to suffice.

He believes in robes, as the ascended sleepers wear them.

Have you saw an ascended sleeper lately? Of course they wear robes, they're Ur's personal joke!

Nah, they're trumpet players! They can also lay down a sick solo.

Looks like the one guy in the background is missing the mesh for his hat/helmet/face accessory/head.

Cool, I got a lot of responses to this topic. Though no one responded to my post about him.
Also I voted for the last Option.

One last important point,

In spite of most of us accepting that Dagoth could of viewed his actions as morally justified, he was possibly merely tricking the character in his final speech to take his power from him.

Getting him to give wraithgaurd over, ect.

Also the essence of Lorkhan's heart is supposed to be evil, and your supposed to act on evil in the game. That could just reflect the moral dualism of the game, but still it makes his supposed desires to help people, and his belief that he is actually enlightening people seem less genuine.

Why would the heart of a guy who wasn't evil (except to the altmer, but they're full of [censored]) make people evil?

I don't think he was trying to trick you as he openly admits that he no longer has any desire to have you as a brother again, and that he just wants the tools from you

Dagoth Ur was planning on killing you either way and he was sure that he couldn't loose, so really, he has no reason to lie to you.

Say wut'? There is no moral dualism in the game, that's why we're having this conversation. Where do you get that the Heart is supposed to be evil?

My lore on Lorkhan is a tad rusty, but wasn't the reason he was "killed" because he created mundus? (Puts him in the good books of mortals)

In this, Lorkhan reminds me of Prometheus stealing fire for mankind and being punished for it by the gods. The difference being that Lorkhan was an equal of the other gods instead of their lesser.

The immortals are bad, in themselves, for punishing the creation of life, don't you think? Mortals are also the only ones with a real sense of good and evil, imo.

From this perspective they didn't punish him for the creation of life, they punished him for the creation of mortality. Of course, that's a generalization.

How about the Ayleids? I doubt they were too happy with Pelinal, but did they have any clue of his connection to Lorkhan? Do the Dunmer and Bosmer despise Lorkhan, as well? The Khajiit?

I've heard it somewhere...I don't remember, I think from Vivec or something. Supposedly Dagoth went along with the Heart's natural evil and that is why he was able to grow so powerful, whereas the tribunal resisted it, yet still drew power from the heart.
