Did someone say "daedric Dai-Katana"? Can I facepalm now?
If he said 'deadric akaviri katana', yes. He didnt, however, and non-akaviri-katanas, just regular katanas, existed in morrowind, they also had the deadric version.
This. And if they are in they need to be rare. Only the blades use Akaviri arms and armor, and they've been disbanded. So if there in they need to be very expensive and powerful.
Erm no thanks, I like the pure European feel of The Elder Scrolls. Even in Oblivion when you got to use the katana at the beginning it didn't feel right to me. Thats just me though.

Then don't use it? No one will force you to eat rice and take of your shoes in case there are katanas in TES!

Oh don't get me wrong if there was one in game and it had great stats i'd use it. But as for hoping its in game I don't although it won't matter to me wither way /opinion.
Since the Blades are supposed to be all dead and as far as I know there are no Blades forts in the far north I'm afraid there's little chance to find any of those.
Conan would break your puny Khitaii and Lemurian blades upon his knee! I understand they are incorporated into the lore of the Elder Scrolls when the Akaviri Potentates ruled the Empire and blended the cultures. However, I've always felt it was strange to have a bunch of Europeans and elves sauntering about with east-asian swords. Add to that I dislike look of Katanas and they've been popularized by a bunch of dumb Otakus in the west and you have my very unfair hate of Katanas. But I hate 'em. So.. no! Only Esbern and his blades should have them! No katanas otherwise!
And -Henrik-, Akavir is to the east, Altmora is north. Morrowind and Black Marsh would be the closest to Akavir, but even then, the distance is quite far and the two lands only meet when there's an invasion.
Which is exactly why Henrik the Sailor always gets lost!
