Hi,

I was hanging somewhere with dogmeat and I ask him to stay because I was going to fight monsters. Then, I left the area and I forgot him.

I started to search him 20/25 min after but I don't remember where I left him, this was in the woods, somewhere...

My question is: when you ask a buddy to leave you alone he returns to a safe zone you know, but for my dog it is different because I didn't told him to leave but TO STAY HERE...

I returned to safe places I know but he's not here, and sleeping changes nothing.

Any idea ?

If companions work like they did in previous games, then he went back to where you first met him. Go there.

And why do you think anyone fully knows the answer yet, OP?

Look on your pip boy map , there may be a marker where he is,

if not, fast travel back to the red rocket where you found him.

If he is not there check the pip boy map-and go back to the settlement on foot, that may force him to move to your location.

Otherwise roll back to a savepoit where you still had him.

Also I'm thinking maybe if you create a simple "home" he'll show up there eventually.

he should return to the default place. but how many days will it take for him to show up there?

I reckon I can answer that in 24 hours, just have to wait for the game to actually be released as my local store isn't run by idiots with no respect.
But if you didn't dismiss him, maybe he is on your mini map?

Sorry, but the game's not technically released yet - even if people are now getting legit copies a bit early. Bethesda has a time-table for when the usual sub-forums will roll out (as a volunteer moderator I'm not privy to when that's going to be.)
