Jeez, that PSN stuff gets on my nerves. Even worse than people who must say "CoD is terrible" every time they can.

And I guess you can not play BRINK through Lan, it's just not common anymore.

It's been down for a week and a half now i think. And it's pissing me off, i got nothing to play really on ps3, since my main one broke and i have to use my slim which i never really use, i have no gane saves or anything in it.

Cant wait for brink.

Actually i have a question, if i played brink on my slim, presumming psn is back online, and im logged in, i get X amount of exp then i play on my other ps3 and login there, would i have the xp from when i played on my slim?

The progress is tied to your PSN Account, isn't it?

I'd assume so, but a few other games i played on my slim did not transfer over to my main, having multiple ps3s is confusing :/

The PSN is has been said to come back on at...... Tuesday (I think). Everyone gets a month of free PS+ and I think some new content in the PS Store. So just calm down my good people. All in due time. :)

Even moreso when it's only for a month.

But they're giving away a handful of free things as well (varying based on region, so NZ and AU will probably get *#&$ all there too).

And I'm pretty sure the free PS+ is just a ploy to show off so more people will fork out to keep the extras.

Oh many why do we always get $#*! all. But with the PS+ I think there are a couple of games you can download for free, but if you had normal psn you had to buy it. Not sure if its true though. But if you think about it, its better than nothing....

This. Considering what we've had to wait for, this is MUCH better than them just saying "Sorry bout all that..." and then us getting nothing out of it.

I think the playstation network being down is a great thing. I remember the days when I did not need online play to enjoy games. I have bought bioshock 1 and 2 ages ago and because of my obsession with prestige mode and playing in clan wars ( hc sd! ) it left all my excellent single player games gathering dust. I also have been enjoying my Wii with 007 goldeneye and texas hold um ( both with free online play ). I feel bad for netflix users that do not have Wii or iPhone. . .I wonder if Netflix is going to credit PS3 users for not being able to stream???

PC maybe what?

Lan isn't common on PC anymore either. Only with a lot of tweaking and modding and reprogramming.

I'm surprised people on this forum are acting like they can never play games again. Maybe it's because they have mostly shooter games (which are mostly multiplayer)?

Um, last I checked, many games have a single-player mode---and there are many single-player games (or games with single-player story mode or something) out there, too. And some games have replay value (but that really depends on the type of game you get, lol).

Then again, it maybe just me, since I've always played single-player all of the time (LittleBigPlanet 2 was my first brief online experience EVER and Brink will be my first shooter to play online EVER, too).

I've got many, many older games to finish or replay or collect items, or do create modes, etc, too. iNFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 2, Bayonetta, Elder Scrolls games (which will never be finished ever at this rate with additional expansion packs and mods, lol!), play local co-op (you know, with real people next to you, lol) on Borderlands, Portal 2, Gears of War games, Kirby: Epic Yarn, SuperSmashBros. Brawl/Melee, etc. Plus, there are many other old games that I never got to play due to M-ratings when I was younger or didn't have access to at the time (Killer 7, etc.).

Netflix still works on the PS3. I guess it doesn't access the PSN, so it unaffected.

I just lose interest in singleplayer games so quickly; after a day's total play time i'm bored. I have well over 2 weeks on CoD.

Wat?

Typical Lan-games I am aware of:
  • Counter-Strike 1.6 (or earlier versions) - 2000
  • Counter-Strike: Source - 2004
  • Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos - 2002
  • Warcraft III: Frozen Throne - 2003
  • Unreal Tournament 2004 - 2004
  • Battlefield 1942 - 2004
  • Battlefield Vietnam - 2004
  • Battlefield 2 - 2005 (aaaalright, you got me there)

Ah, okay. I see. :)

For me, I take a really, really long time to finish ANY game, since I don't have much gaming time as I used to anymore. I'm not a hardcoe gamer
at all, and I don't play games all day, sooo....
I also love to re-play games for the lulz or to improve my skills, or to unlock stuff.
I also buy many cheapo games, so I can keep buying and buying single-player games and trade in for new ones, etc.

Meh, it's a personal thing, I guess, heh. ^_^
I've grown up on single-player games (mostly adventure games like King's Quest and Tomb Raider and RPG's) on my PC in the late 90/early 2000's, so I never really got into online multiplayer gaming. I do play offline co-op with relatives and family friends (but not too often), when I do play multiplayer, though. Only just recently played FPS games--CoD: MW on Wii (one of my fav FPS), Metroid Prime 3, and Killzone 2, Borderlands (my FAV FPS), and Black Ops were recent FPS'es for me.
(I think it was FPS games--Halo, maybe?---that may have started the multiplayer craze, I guess?)
