[BETA] Dance of the Three-Legged Guar

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:24 pm

That script looks similiar to what I used for my passing time while reading mod, PS, so I don't see why it wouldn't work in this mod. :)

Mouse, I would use the vopth951 version seeing as how that one has the later date.

There is two files in the patch
which one i use
Clean Dance of the Three-Legged Guar v0pt95 ?
Clean Dance of the Three-Legged Guar v0pt951?

Oops! Please use v0pt951 - it's the more recent (technically version 0.9.5.1)

Maybe it's luck that your script works? According to Kateri (and MWSFD), the game engine processes books differently depending on whether they are picked up off the ground or dropped onto your 'paper doll' from your inventory. You need to cater for both OnPCSkipEquip and OnActivate. That's what I hadn't done right. :)

the devs didn't even get it right, the councellor books had bad scripts for books which only works onActivate, and the onEquip part of the script did nothing. the UUMP fixed it though.

I checked the ones from your "patch", PS, and they looked simliar to the one I used. When you're reading from the inventory, you have to use PCSkipEquip; if from the game world, it's OnActivate. I didn't check your former script, so I can't say what was wrong with it.

They were just plain wrong. :D

Is it working OK in game for everyone now?

Forgive us if this has already been reported/discovered, but my friend has run into a couple of problems. (I haven't even got to the Joining yet what with one thing and another.)

When Arnie says: "Don't come any closer! Oh crap." - the result is: set "1jw_bhc_ghostfence".FenceOff to 1

This is when the error messages pop up:

Script 1jw_bhcf_CompScript could not find variable "1jw_bhc_ghostfence.fenceoff" on line 1.
Continue running executable?

==>Compile And Run problem was found in Greeting "Greeting1" "Don't come any closer! Oh crap."
Continue running executable?

My friend also says that when she clicks on the statue of the sea goddess she gets:

Script Error: EXPRESSION in 1jw_bhc_ShrineVelothScr
Continue running executable?

Left eval
Continue running executable?

...After these error messages nothing happens. I'm still a beginner at scripting, but you can make sense of these, yes? I had a look around in the CS but I thought I'd better come to you guys.

No, that's great. I'll have a poke around and see if I can see what's up. Expression errors are normally grammar errors in my coding. :embarrass:

How's it working generally?

OK, I've uploaded a new patch (same http://princess.elricm.net/ThreeLeggedGuar.htm as before - you'll just see that the version number is different).

Sorry it took me so long to spot this - I'll try to be a bit more on the ball with fixes in future. :)

I'm kicking this back up the forums with a short promotional piece for my as-yet-unfinished part of the mod, as part of my resolution to actually get it bloody finished sometime this century!!!

My half of the mod involves an Indiana Jones/The Mummy-style comedy/romance/adventure, involving a dungeon crawl through an alchemical study-[censored]-archeological dig that's gone horribly horribly wrong.

Can you help scientific genius but romantically clueless Evie Jastal save her doomed research project from haunted ebony, sabotage by rival scholars, evil Scamps and worst of all, REALLY bad poetry? And can you get her to stop explaining thermothaumatological reactions to you long enough to get her to notice you're trying to flirt with her? All this, and a word that rhymes with "purple". What more could you reasonably require?

Well that sounds great so far, this is on my Morrowind Mods Christmas List.... but as much as I would like it by then, I'm sure it is going to take a while. But I can't wait for this, so keep up the good work!!! :goodjob:

Look.

Look what you have done.

How is there any possible way my mortal spirit can survive waiting for this mod any longer? Genius and romantically clueless?
I hope you're happy, Kateri.

You are going to kill us with anticipation. I have the feeling this mod is going to become an instant classic.

ATM, the patch download link is generating a 'File not found or forbidden' error message at ElricM's site.

I just tested the link and it works for me.

Is anyone else experiencing problems?

Edit - previous problem solved.

Now, I am in the tent in the Arena with Arnand, and spoken to him, but when I try to leave the arena he just tells me to go back in there. What do I need to do?

This is a pretty shocking necropost, I know (blame it on my Telvanni tendencies) - but I would love to have any news on how the mod is progressing.
And maybe Arkeyla might still need her problem solved? :D

any progress since last report? this has been pretty amusing.

i have a funny savegame where no matter what, arnand is nakid, even if i add clothes in the console. something must;ve gklitched on my end, since it tends to happen to npcs every so often, but this was the first time it effected a companion.
