Danse's romance

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 8:09 am

Heello, so I'm stuck with Danse's relationship at the moment. I have already done the main quests for the Brotherhood along with the main story line, and I'm currently in Liberty Reprimed and I have not received Blind Betrayal from Max. I have spoken to him every time I've finished a quest from the main storyline and every time I finished main quests for the Brotherhood, is there anything missing? In all my conversations and dialogue options he's agreed and, as I mod my weapons often he's also loved that. I'm really not sure what I've missed or if I've done anything wrong.

Any ideas what it could be?

Thank you!

Spoiler threads should be posted in that link but I will be nice and answer you:

Spoiler
I have never had that happen, did you give the holotape with the network scanner to the BoS? Also sounds like a good thing because now the BoS won't attack him on site.

Didn't think I was spoiling. Apologies if I did.

Spoiler
But the curious thing is that nothing else happens. I did give the Holotape with the network scanner to the BoS, as this character is a die hard BoS member, still nothing happens. After I've given the holotape, I've gone back and forth with Max and the legless lady and none of them even mention anything of a betrayal. So I'm just really confused on where to go or what to do.

Edit: After handing in the holotape I've done the following quest, thinking that maybe it would be triggered after a completion of a quest, but still nothing happens.

Spoiler
I guess you are just lucky than, no blind betrayal for you, I never had him following me before doing the quest, maby not having him on the ship stopped it from happening, or you need him to not be following you while talking to Maxon

Have you try progressing into the Institute quest far enough yet, certain quests may require progressing into other faction quests, like with the Battle of Bunker Hill, did you do that quest?

Hmm, very strange. I took Danse with me to collect the nukes in the Glowing Sea, he volunteered to stay behind, and once I turned that quest in I was given Blind Betrayal instantaneously.

Have not done any Institute quests as yet, could that be the reason? I've read many guides and walkthroughs and not a single one of them had mentioned anything about having to do quests for the institute to get Blind Betrayal.

I haven't gone to the Glowing Sea to pick up the nukes, could that be the reason why I haven't come across Blind Betrayal yet? I'll make an extra save and try that just in case. I'm trying not to advance too much in the main storyline.

Yes, picking up the nukes for Liberty Prime in the Glowing Sea is what you have to do before Blind Betrayal is activated. Good luck! ;)

The real question is, why would you want to romance Danse?

I mean really, after the third time I heard him shout "Ad Victorium" while getting out of bed, I would shoot him in the groin.

I've even heard him say "I feel more tired now than when we went to sleep" and "That was exhilarating." XD He cracks me up sometimes, surprisingly.

His lines are actually some of the perviest for some reason. It's a strange choice when you have Cait and Hancock also in the running.

He says a lot more than just Ad Victorium for me (in fact, that's the one he says the least), he usually does "that was exhilarating" or "I feel more tired now than when we went to sleep" and "better than a military exercise". He also switches from mean-business distant soldier type to complete adoration and commitment. I think his romance lines are pretty sweet. I especially like when he throws the occasional "I like it when you're this close" or "Decorum prohibits it but I feel like being close to you right now".

@OP: Yes you need the nuke part of Liberty Prime that's when he goes AWOL.

P.S. When you get to the bunker take the Graqe Mentals on the counter, the Charisma checks are pretty hard it seems, and I play with high charisma. Both with Maxim to keep Danse alive and for Danse's romance you need high check to get the result you want.

Hahaha, yes, I like all of those, too... But I believe I am heavily biased due to the fact that Danse was the first companion I romanced, and Blind Betrayal brought up all kinds of emotions as I watched it play out.

Too bad he has to stay in his Power Armor after the quest, ugh. PS4 here, so can't make any mods to put other clothing on him. At least I gave him PA pieces that had the Paladin paint job so he looks less lame in the plain X01 armor.
