RP: Dark Apotheosis - OOC disscusion

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:55 pm

Now that both groups should now be getting it's members together, i thought it was a good idea to have the OOC discussion page going now as both groups will probably want to be discussing interactions with characters or NPC's or asking questions about certain NPCs or quests that they will be going ahead and doing in the RP

Zelric FC4 and myself have been discussing at length about the direction Group 2 will be going as they won't be following the Main Quest exactly, but more of a parallel questline that will lead to some interesting interactions with the MQ along the way.

So anything you would like to discuss regarding the RP feel free to as this is a project that will require some collaboration and co-operation to have it going along well in some places.

I think that you are doing a great job as i think we have done the whole dynamic in a restrictive way. both Ordinators were meant to be more equal in this rather than a superior, underling relationship. But i am sure we will be able to iron it out when the group is assembled proper.

my only problem with my writing at the moment was that the last post i did, contradicted the kind of character the Inquisitor was meant to be. Felt more out of character, like I myself was realising what i had actually responded to without looking at it the right way and apologising for it. I just need to focus on him doing his job and not me wanting to not have everyone hate my character :( lol

You're doing fine - your guy's in a state where he hates having to team up with outlanders but he is starting to realise that he might have to deal with it. It's never easy striking a balance when you're writing someone a little unhinged.

Gonna get interesting later on, everyone has different reasons for being there and very different moral compasses...

Yeah. My character only wants to get his research on and make some reports. He hates being around people and pretty much everything else :P but tries to be as indifferent as possible. That's what seclusion does to one's mind. Being a Telvanni and all.

Urgh. Sorry for the TL;DR, I've been trying to avoid that.

How soon are we going to converge the groups? I assume there's someone to take charge of each of the main NPCs when the time comes (Zelric?)

Don't worry about it, IN. You've actually got me wondering about Nevena's condition now, and I enjoy reading her thoughts about Vyktoria. I just want the two of them to have the chance to interact soon.

I think Group One is just about ready to convene, though Zelric and I are both waiting on Aulakauss to post at the moment. Once he does, it shouldn't take long for everybody else to make their way over to Caius and get things moving.

All i know is by looking at the MQ the most likely opportunity that the two groups meet at least the first time will be in Vivec. A certain dunmer will be the focus of the two groups, if anyone remembers the initials used in my intro :P

But its good seeing everyone almost togetger as we will begin moving forward very soon :)

Will be interesting who will be chosen to lead G1

It should be interesting when the two groups meet, considering one is dedicated to hunting down heretics and the other will likely have at least one declared heretic in its ranks by then. And I agree that Vivec is as likely a spot as any where they'll encounter each other.

So far as who's going to lead Group One? An interesting question. Honestly, I could see my character taking command, or at least trying to, if only because she has past military experience and, despite her arrogance, is actually quite capable in her own right. I would imagine that Zelric has something in mind as far as all of that goes, however, so we'll see how things progress once everybody meets up with Caius Cosades.

Group one will most likely be left to their own devices to decide among them who the leader may be. Caius most likely will just tell them to get their [censored] together as long as the quest is underway. I planned on controlling Caius and other group one NPCs, or perhaps cycling between a few of group one's players in regards to NPC writing.

Group 2, I think I'll let Shadow be in charge of the NPCs they encounter, as well as some of their quest goals. I just want to make sure everything runs smoothly as there are quite a few of us involved. :P

As long as I can stay active enough to be able to control the NPCs I will be able to do it. Otherwise i will have to try and have someone else do it if i am unavailable at a critical point. But from how we have been going, as long as i have at least one post in a day i should be able to keep things going smoothly in group 2.

I'd hate to lock out the entire group if i did get busy, but hopefully we will see how it goes.

I can pick up slack sometimes Shadow but not often. I'll honestly be lucky to get a post a day once the holiday schedule is over and done with.

And honestly IN, I am with Dark Nova. I find Nevena intriguing, and would love to read more about her. Since it was mostly dialogue it wasn't really that long anyways.

Don't worry, V. I've TL;DR'd so hardcoe already that no matter what you can always say, "At least I'm not as bad as Aula,"

..I'm still sorry about that..

Will be posting today; New Year's hangover has passed and I've mostly recovered.

Didn't intend for Gerald to deliver a speech. It just sorta... flowed outta me. Kept on going.

This 'convene in the morning' business got me thinking though: unless we start screwing up time alot, Group 2 may be waiting and 'sleeping' for a good deal of real time before that next morning meeting commences. If we don't decide to delve into the sewers this game-day, we will have to wait until someone posts the morning. With two groups, this time discrepancy will come up again so should we have a set rule of some kind, like it's not the next day until Zelric posts of the morning's arrival?

His day break posts would be a synching of the watches, so to speak, since over the course of events it wouldn't surprise me if one group is moving through the day faster than the other, depending on post rates.

I like that idea. Even if Zelric just works alongside Shadow to ensure that both groups are on relatively the same time cycle, I think it should work out alright.

And I think that Group One should start the meeting with Caius pretty quickly, so we can get both teams set off and doing their thing. As it stands nobody has even reached the wrinkly old fart yet, much less started with all the introductions and such. If it becomes an issue worth addressing, maybe Group Two could undertake some sort of mini quest in Molag Mar to let the other team try to catch up?

We may need to make a lot of those, since you are the large group with more cogs that need to turn out a post. Which is fine, since we need to make our entire plotline out of Vivec's farts anyways. What's a few more minis? :P

On the subject of time passage, I could easily post daybreak posts for the time sync that FC had in mind. Or we could trifle with some more sidequests. Which do you all think would work better/easier?

Daybreak posts sound like a good idea, it might make things easier later on when we start to mingle, otherwise might end up with different parts of the same town in different time zones... I think we in group 2 will be busy trying not to kill each other.

And FC, I know what you mean about things just gushing out, my little rant wasn't planned either. Sometimes you just get caught up in the emotions you're writing about - I was actually feeling a bit pissed off when I finished writing my bit.

All right, Nevena's under the tree to meet Caius, and I think Uglius and Elgen's chars are on their way now, as well.

RE: Time syncing -- we are going to have a hell of a time keeping time synced between these two groups. Wouldn't it just be easier to ... not sync and pretend we did? When the time comes for the groups to cross, we can settle on a date. I guess it doesn't matter if people feel like they have a plan for handling it, but considering this is an RP and not a novel it doesn't seem necessary to me if it gets in the way of gameplay.

Depending on what we want to do, could just simply say that the group wants to start right away if the wait until the next day was going to mess time up.

I agree that time wont need to be equalized until we are in the same place as the other group but we will see how it all goes.

Hmm still waiting on the other 2 before i can reply and respond to this.

Having a long speech was still good guys, helps to show us just what kjnd of oeople your characters are. And gives me time to have a good response and hope that no one gets arrested anytime soon :P

Me and Sharlene have half hashed out our posts, we're going to iron them out in a couple hours from now and post them up then we'll be able to get to Caius whenever everyone else is ready. As i keep saying though, my plan is to arrive fashionably late / dead on time to the meeting, So if everyone else is ready and me and Sharlene aren't there, we will be immanently.

I'm just concerned our smaller group will advance through time much quicker than the larger group, especially since we seem to have sober characters all bunched together with a focused intent on helping the temple -or killing one another/arresting- and group one is well... all over the place.

We could end up days ahead at the convergence point, while you guys are still on Mondas! And then we'd have to wait quite awhile.

Personally I think both groups should operate on their own, even if they're on separate times in the RP. And when the convergence happens, whoever's "ahead" of the other can slow down and wait until the other is ready. But we should be careful. One group can't be too far ahead.
